You ever drive to the meeting, or field service meeting point, and do a U-Turn and go back home?

I snuck out of the meeting once, went home, watch some Porn and went back. Best Meeting EVER!

I think I did that one time. I can remember being hassled about getting up too late, being hassled to go out, missing the grouping, and I just decided to go home that day. There was a concerned call from my grandpa about it, but nothing came of it. It felt so good to miss out on that nonsense.

Yes, I've even pulled into the parking lot on a Sunday morning, but then, waited until everyone was in the hall and went to the mall.

I've done this many, many times. These weren't deliberate "misses" (of which I have plenty, too), but last-minute ditches after showering, dressing and driving all the way to the meeting or service. Sometimes I just couldn't do it, said "screw this" and went back home. And many, many times I've done the meeting for service (it's especially easy when the hall meets all together) and just kind of drifted to my car, out of the parking lot and back home (or out to breakfast.) It's all about being seen by "the man" anyway, so I figured I got some credit.

Many times. It's called "common sense kicking in".

I have to count the times I was sent home from FS too, for not having made "prior arrangements" a big thing at the congo I went to. If you didn't do that, you didn't get to go out in FS.

    Yes, I'm totally serious.

OOooh, Michaels! Much better than the meetings any day! Craft-o-holic here.

I also highly recommend the Dollar Tree for avoiding meetings. Or just about anything, actually.

Yes. I remember as a kid we were late for Field service and we drove round looking for them. My Dad said if you see them let me know. I saw some but kept quiet. We went home.

I've gone to the assembly arrived late stayed for lunch and gone home. I couldn't face sitting there.

I've gone to the hall and driven straight past and gone home.

One hot sunday my girlfriend and I left the meeting and went to the bar for refreshments and came back for the prayer.

Yes I did this and more and more in my last years...the feeling of relief was enormous...and sometimes I would just have to get up in the hall in a meeting and go home...it just felt too oppressive to stay there.

Oh yes, weather was one of the biggest factors for turning around. I never did it because I saw a certain car parked there, but I got the feelings you are describing. There was also the occasion when my wife or I spilled our fast food coffee or juice on our clothing and just couldn't do it like that.

Added: Oh, my wife sometimes forgets (deliberately) to set the clock on the weekend and stays up late with me. The next morning, I get up nice and quiet so as not to disturb her. She wakes up and yells "What time is it?" and I say 9:15 or whatever. "Oh well, can't make it now, do I smell coffee?"
