Does anyone know of an active witness who died of AIDS?

JWoods, the WTS has an official strict rule about jws who get engaged to be married and then drop the engagement for no "good" reason. They have to prove to the elder body that the reason was not frivolous. Thus, an engaged jw is now allowed to get the other to take a test, if they refuse, can end the engagement without repurcussions, or if the person gets the test and is found positive, still be able to end the engagement without repurcussions.

OK, I see...so, what this is saying is that the AIDS test is now deemed a valid reason for ending an engagement - not that the AIDS test itself was medically forbidden.

I remember the "breaking the engagement rules" from way back when - in the 1960s - but they were just about premarital sex then, pre-AIDS.

But once again, these JW rulership people sure do like to get themselves involved into peoples private lives, don't they? For crying out loud, if a pair of JWs decides they want to break an engagement just because they find out they don't get along - isn't that better than a bad marriage?

A sister in our congregation dies of Aids.

Before becoming a Witness she had a blood transfusion during the birth of her daughter.

When the daughter was about 7 or 8 she died also. It was incredibly sad.

Yes, Some years ago, I read WT or AW article about a young guy that had sex many times while he was a witness, I think he was df'd two or three times. After that, he cleaned up his life and he died of AIDS. Maybe someone remember that article. I would like to see that article again.

I knew a man who contracted herpes through homosexual sex while an active jw...was never df'd, but was also well connected in his congregation.
