It seems that the Christian persuasion appeals more to pushy people than non-pushy people.
Despite not being a Christian myself, that has not been my experience - quite the reverse.

"I'll say it anyway!" Geez. Yes, that was totally rude/out of line, and she had to know it would make you uncomfortable. All she had to do was say her prayer silently and privately. All this pushy evangelizing crap gives me a headache.
I had a Presiding Overseer (yes its that far back) stand up in a restaurant and say an outloud prayer for all of us at the table.
Talk about embarassing, I wanted to hide under the table...........
Sorry, I'm a bit confused---is this woman a JW or does she belong to another Xtians faith?
next time you eat with her,
hopefully at her home.....
be prepared to pray!
Boy! It's hard to feel and think something, but have to bite your tongue to hold it in. I do it all the time with my JW sister when she goes on and on about HER religious beliefs, but cuts me off in a split second if I mention one thing that sounds even slightly "off" to her spiritually. It takes a great deal of self-control. I hope you get another opportunity when you're psyched for it.
chickpea....that was beautiful. I know some Pagans/Wiccans and they are super people. My husband calls himself a "born-again Pagan" when asked what his religion is. He is a unique character to say the least.
I've seen the PO prayer in public many times. I've always wondered what others thought of it.
PO's aren't the only ones who say prayers in public.
The assistant pastor at my former church said one in a restaurant for our entire group.
I've come to believe that prayer is too personal to share with more than one or two other people.
Someone is going to say something in it that someone doesn't agree with, yet you still have to appear to agree by saying "amen."
Gladiator: What do you mean you've seen the opposite?
Mary: She is of another Christian faith. Not a JW.

The Christians I have known are in general, as people, kind and loving. They do talk about their faith because people talk about what that they value and if they like you, they want to share something that they feel is valuable.
The pushy types that want to write pages of diatribe, often appear on sites such as this and give an unfair impression of Christians as a whole. But as I said, this has been my experience. Maybe yours has been different.
By the looks of it, she is losing her husband, her daughter went off to school, so she is looking for someone new to control since she's lost them? Just my observation. Oh and I would run from someone like that!
