Since JWs won't go to apostate boards, but they will read the newspaper...

I have found with our local papers that they are loath to print anything that smacks of a stand alone campaign, I have to find a news item to tag my letter to, or I do not get published.

Having said that, it will not be difficult to connect it to say, one of the weekly stories about con men calling at vulnerable peoples door.

Great idea Jimmy P. we should all do it on a regular basis.

Advertise, advertise, advertise, the cult and its tactics!

No one who is in a cult believes that they are in one. They can see the signs of a cult in other groups but not in their own.

You hit the nail on the head with that one. Whenever my father sees an article in the newspaper about the Catholic Church and their pedophile problem, he has absolutely no problem believing evey word that is written and gleefully points out how this is 'proof' that they're part of Babylon the Great. But of course when the same newspaper reports that Jehovah's Witnesses have a pedophile problem, he gets very agitated and complains about the papers being "biased against the Witnesses" and how "Satan is working overtime to try and embarass the Organization."

Being under mind control with this damn cult, he simply refuses to see that the WTS is no better than the Catholic Church with regards to protecting pedophiles.

This is why I suggest that people submitting DA letters should first have them printed in the newspapers, in whatever way they can afford, since letters delivered to elders are seldom read by them and definitely not passed on to the rank and file.

JP, great idea and letter. (And that "Trampled Underfoot" riff is pretty keen, too!)

As a Witness, I was so ashamed of myself when I realized I looked forward to bad news, the worse the better, that is sickening. Now I am so aware that those Witnesses around me are the same way, I try to subtly turn the table now. It is so wrong.

Maybe it could help someone. They are still allowed to read the newspaper last i heard, so its possible it could shake someone up.

    Mary stated that
"Being under mind control with this damn cult, he simply refuses to see that the WTS is no better than the Catholic Church with regards to protecting pedophiles."

Let me add that of recent, the Catholic Church has become more open in admitting its wrong doings and going all the way to pay large sum of money to the victims.

Yes, Scott, the WT always talks about the lack of humility in Christendom. They could learn a thing or two about apologies themselves.

    Maybe...hopefully...

But the average braindead dub follows the WT playbook when it comes to "worldly" media.

They have an offensive play and a defensive play.

When the media praises the WT/JWs then the WTS falls all over itself trying to pat themselves on the back and show everyone how they're recognized as special.

OTOH, when the media prints something negative or scathing about the WT/JWs, then it is proclaimed that worldly media is inspired and run by Satan's system of things.

So when dubs see an article on cults, they're either going to ignore it as a ploy of Satan, or, they're gonna apply it to some other poor schmuck down the street who is Mormon.

Good luck despite my negative comment. I do hope that it helps...
