There was a guy that was around Palestine aboyut 2k uears ago that feels the same way you do, about you too by the way.
He doesn't think you're such a bad guy either, as a matter of fact, he loves you, even if you pick your teeth at the table.

I think the pattern was set when Moses came down from Sinai.
He had the actual TEN words written with the finger of God!
He had an autograph copy of God's commands!
Oh--but wait!
He got angry and busted them up into crumblies.
But, don't worry. Moses wrote COPIES with his own human hands.
So, even the Jews didn't have the actual autograph originals!

nature, creation can be taken seriously, even in far away places the same laws apply. but
The bible in its entirety can not be taken seriously. It does/can not have the same origin, or author as the universe, which / who's laws "CAN NOT LIE"
The bible has some practical rules, truism even, but so has Chaucer, Shakes beer & Co. so:
the bible deserves to be studied to deal with, understand its believers.
