pioneer strutting

thursday while doing business in a urban city, i came across a very frequent scene:

6 or so Witlesses pioneering and doing their piosneer strut.

    1: older man, 50ish

    1: 16-20ish man

    4: 20-50 year old women

these people were strutting and talking with their watchtowers in hand, no hurry, no "end is near look in their eyes", and heavy in gossip conversation (for their were walking in 2's x 5feet away from each other)

when I was heavily in, I could barely get 1 month in the year, but there are these regulars............ now I detest them. they are obviously leeching off the welfare system and we are flipping the bill for being bothered at the door.

many purposely look for jobs with big turn-rates so they can collect months of unemployment while piosneering

I know the unemployment system is a socially good thing for the needy (I have probably been on it for 3 months in my whole life), but there are leeches who use the "system" and then maybe work 2 days cleaning for cash

    my rant, Dacheech

I don't know about the welfare system in your area, but it is more likely that

1: Could be self-employed with a flexible schedule; could be on disability due to a serious, permanent job injury

1: Could be self-[employed with a flexible schedule

4: Could also be self-employed with a flexible schedule, or husbands with well-paying jobs, or even husbands with average jobs and they work at home; or could be single women who work hard to support themselves and live simply

I was a regular pioneer for 10 years and never leeched off the government, I paid my way and worked hard.

I might mention that I work in the UI area of government, in a city of several 100,000. Unemployment tax is paid into the system by the employer based on the number of employees. Just because jws are out in d2d during the day, it is not sensible to automatically assume they are on unemployment. Unemployment is not a permanent benefit but has a time limit. Recenly the federal government has extended that but that is not usually the case. So unless these individuals have told you they are on unemployment or you have access to the records I do, it is not logically to assume they are.

When I was in, my GF used to work 3 days a week in a shop, and then pioneer the other 2 work days and Sat. morning, she never claimed the "dole" as we call unemployment benefit here in Blighty.

There, that`s the first positive thing I`ve said about the woman in 22 years.

    Won`t happen again.

    All the best

In Australia we call it the “pioneer stroll”.

I saw that myself when I was in. There was this one person that lost his job, and went on unemployment and dogged finding another job so he could pio-sneer. When his benefits ran out, he simply started rummaging through the garbage looking for old TVs to fix (and resell, at ripoff prices comparable to what the exact same set would have cost new). I myself wasted $125 on one of those sets, that I estimate would have been worth around $150 had it been brand new; it had noisy volume controls and a push button channel selector that usually didn't return the number you pressed.

Most of the pio-sneers actually work part time. Either they have cleaning jobs and work 3-4 hours a night, or they work 2 or 3 days a week and do field circus the remainder of the time. In fact, the one I studied with had a cleaning job. He became a manager at an apartment complex about 3 months before I got baptized, cutting his time with me short just as he was starting to specify what brand of everything I had to use (and that I had to throw away all my music). He continued pio-sneering (and forcing his then-wife to pio-sneer), resulting in doing pxxx poor work.

anyway, my customers don't know I'm a witless............ and I have heard my customerers themselves say

"there are those witnesses again, why don't they get a job and work like us"

Most of the pioneers that I knew (including myself) had good jobs that allowed them to pioneer while they work part time. Even the whole window-washer cliche is wrong because when you get cleaning contracts of any type you can easily make a ton of money. I also had a stint in my pioneer years when I worked full time, and knew of others who did the same. Some pioneers work 2nd/3rd shifts as well. It's actually looked down on by the witnesses to leech from the government. Although I'm sure there are those who have it down to a science.

The whole pioneer shuffle (as we called it) is another issue. Being out in service is just plain boring and a total waste of life. It doesn't matter where your next paycheck comes from.

I don't see why they should not be turned in for welfare/disability/unemployment fraud.

(I believe UI requires a person to be ready, willing, and able to work every day. For example, if you have an appointment at the UI office and you bring a kid without a sitter, you are not able to work because you're caring for the kid, so you lose your benefits for that day. FS would seem to be no different.)
