Does anyone know how that works? We have so many conventions where i live, i can easily tape it.

If you are within range of the radio signal, you just have to find out the frequency. The signal isn't that strong, you have to be fairly close to the building.

I do not know the answer. However, the best way might be to ask the WTS if you can do a telephone hook up to help you follow up the program. Then you can have lee way to tape it.

Some MP3 players let you record FM radio.

You sit in the parking lot in your car with a relatively small "boom box" (or a walkman or recordable mp3 player), set the FM frequency to whatever the assembly hall broadcasts at, hit record, and you're good to go.

Most of these signals are FAR too weak to hear in the parking lot of a DC. At an assembly hall, maybe since you'd likely be alot closer.

Yeah, my Zen (mp3 player) has a FM tuner on it, and you can just tune to the correct FM station and record directly. Pretty neat. Then you can go back later and make sure you didn't miss any "New Light"!

If you have a regular line-up of conventions there - chances are that they are using the same frequency each time (which will make it easier for you).

The FCC allows te use of low-power FM broadcasts - with the provision that they do not interfere with licensed FM broadcast stations. What that means is that they will not be using the sam frequency as a local FM station.

The frequency usually picked is at the low end of the FM broadcast band which means around 87.9 Mhz(?) to 90-point-something.

I don't recall 100%, but when I used to go to those 'assemblies' - if I recall correctly - they would turn off the feed during the prayers. Not sure if that was followed by all those who broadcast - or if that may have changed. It is really not that important to your question - just a side-bar observation - comment.

Like others have mentioned - just pull into the parking lot - turn on your FM receiver - and start at the lowest frequency on your radio - then tune slowly upwards until you locate the broadcast.

It's ironic... there seems to be a paranoia about having the people tape the assembly talks... then they broadcast them over the air waves for anyone to pick up... and tape (if they're intelligent enuf to do so).

    Good Luck! Sounds like fun!

The range of these FM transmitters is about 250 feet. At a Grand Boasting Session, they will reach the whole auditorium, since there is a direct line of sight. Outside the building, you will probably not be able to receive it unless you have a strong antenna.
