the ipad is bad for eye-strain. i LOVE the electronic paper with the kindle!! :)

I gave the Nook to someone for a gift. She's loving it! I think the Kindle requires a network connection you have to pay for and the Nook's is built in.

I'm waiting on getting an Ipad simply because it appears to be much more versatile,
we don't have them here yet in Canada but they should be arriving soon.
One thing thats unique about these electronic readers is you can adjust the fonts to your likening,
something that becomes useful to people with aging eyesight, such as myself.

the only fees you have to pay on the kindle is when you buy a book. i believe it's less than a $1.... it's free to check email and facebook, etc. unless you go over a certain amount of GB or something...
