I've read many a tale on this board of jws somehow getting into secure apartment buildings that had no soliciting signs in plain sight.

My mother did newspaper routes on the side, so she used to use her keys for that. She would go into lobbies and leave magazines all around. The building managers never figured out it was her.

Jehovah`s Witness`s think they are above the rules..

The rest of us have to follow..

Who knows - he may have an assembly part where he gets to talk about it, too

He'll have a part on the assembly but it will end with the security guard getting baptized and becoming a regular pioneer that aided an entire village in Uganda into the organization.

I saw her point up to my apartment and the next thing I know I get a call from the callbox downstairs from a gentleman claiming to be a book salesman and saying that my mother told him I was interested in what he had. I told him no thank you and hung up on him.

Funny and upsetting at the same time. Your mom should respect that you've chosen the "malediction" and leave it at that.

My mother feels that since I am her child she doesn't have to respect me or my choices.

Jim tx ; good work you did the right thing. remember most of these malls/shopping centers are on private property. and the owners have the right to keep peddlers off their property. I't amazing how this wt zombie spoke and read english ( but couldn't read the SIGN... and the funny thing is he wouldn't have been asked to leave if someone like you didn't complained. smart move Jim. theres a big supermarket / mall near me and jw's used to always work the area , till they got thrown out by management. I can remember my jw dad whining years ago about how he got thrown out of the mall and told not to come back , unless he was only shopping. he made a BIG STINK about it. AND i told him it's private property and jw's have no right there preaching. I also told my jw dad I was one of many that complained to management about being harrassed while shopping. and I didn't like to shop there for this reason, management told me I was not the only person to complain.. funny in the last 5 or so years I have never seen any jw's in this mall counting time. thank you JIM

I had seen them in malls out west where there are signs against soliciting and distributing literature, and have seen dubs in there holding up their mags but not talking to anyone or even trying to. I approached and asked them what they were doing and they replied their witnessing work, by just holding up the signs and letting people see them and not approaching them in any way they were performing a witness for Jehover. Two of them were sitting in the food court and having mags proped up on their table and just eating and drinking thier food and when asked they too mentioned that they were witnessing to jehover just by being there and people seeing the literature and knowing who they were. So I told them why don't you go out in you vehicle drive up the Highway for 1 to 2 hours then drive back and all the while having a mag proper up in the front and back windows and then they would be in their terms witnessing for jehover. They looked at me like i was nuts. Me I wondered what the hell the difference would be???

The odd thing about all of this? I have related this same story to my wife and her son - who neither have ever been a JW. They just look at me kinda odd-like. They just don't understand it.

    Regards,

It is safe to assume that handing out this littera-trash without express permission from the store or property manager is forbidden. Not only that, but it disrupts business--these stores are in business to sell products that people want and need, not to serve as targets for Jehovah's Witlesses to go around hassling customers (who might then go to another store instead).

In fact, it is the widespread tendencies for Wal-Mart to allow the witlesses to set up booths that had a lot to do with my going to L.L.Bean instead for my purchases of clothing, and to other stores for other things. It is impossible for the witlesses to set up booths online. True, I do pay more for the product (and get better product), and I pay for shipping and handling (with money and shipping time). But I don't have to worry about those busybody witlesses hounding me to go back to the Kingdumb Hell.

Frankly, when I'm outside working, i hate going into a 7-11 and being pestered by friends doing street work. I hate having my door knocked on when I'm relaxing at home, so I get it. That said the whole thing was petty on your part Jim. but if it made you feel better then kudos to you
