Randy ofr some reason is one of Fred's pet hates. If Fred's around when Randy, Bill Bowen or Lee Elder are posting, expect Fred to be the first cab off the rank with a typical attempt at thread destruction. I don't understand it really - Fred can be compassionate, but hates it when others try to show compassion to the WBTS' victims. Go figure!

Fred tries hard scouring my websites to find something to compliment me on all the time! Otherwise some of you would never know about me or what I do. Fred is my pimp du jour!

Attendance at the annual Memorial of Christ's death
15,374,986Total volunteer hours spent in public Bible educational work
1.1 billionAverage weekly home Bible courses taught
4,921,702Practicing members*
6,117,666New members baptized
263,431Increase over 2000
1.7 percentBranch offices
111Congregations
93,154* While other religious groups count their membership by occasional or annual attendance, this figure reflects only those who are actively involved in the public Bible educational work.
Those numbers seem bigger to me. Perhaps I am missing something. If so, what?

It's what they don't say that is very enlightening, not what they say.
Compare with the real stats at:

teejay
Let's see:
1,100,000,000 hrs divided by 263,431 new recruits. Comes to 4,176 hours required to produce one recruit.
Divide that by 90 (pioneer hours each month) = 46 months or 3.9 years to produce one recruit.
Divide the same 4,176 by 10 (publisher hrs per month) = 418 months or 34.8 years.
Not a very effective sales technique, or maybe the public just ain't buying like they used to.

Keep in mind, I am not defending the Jehovah's Witnesses, because I wish they would just go away. I am sure they feel the same about me. That being said, here are my observations.
This tells me that the number of publishers has continued to climb, but the number of people getting baptized is going down. Am I right?
This tells me again that the average number of publishers is going up, but there has not been as many become publishers in recent years. Did I read this right?
This tells me that the number of hours spent in service has increased, however the number of hours each person contributed decreased. Again, did I read this data correctly?
The memorial attendence vs partakers seems obvious. New people all the time claim to be anointed. The anointed who were alive in 1914 are supposed to be the ones eating the emblems. The 8,650 people (give or take) eating the food today can't possably be the same people eating it in 1987.Some of the other charts just back up the ones I posted by breaking the stats down by countries. And other charts compare pioneers vs publishers. Stuff I could care less about. But that does not change this fact.
There are more Jehovah's Witnesses today than ever before. Sure, fewer people are becoming JWs. Furthermore, unless I am missing something, just because the number of people it takes to make one JW is up, does not change the fact that more people believe (or pretend to believe) their crap than ever. Perhaps somebody can point out where I went wrong on what I read, if I somehow misinterpreted the graphs.

teejay,
That is true, their methods of recruiting are aweful. They really do need a new plan if they want better results. Is this a light saber in my pocket or am I just happy to see you?

5,000 are baptized each week on average. What they don't say is that nearly 3,500 stop reporting hours forever on average each week. That is the missing number, if you subtract the increase from the number baptized.
