Perhaps some of us were on H20 way back when we had a so called Governing Body member taking us all for a ride. I think a little skepticism is in order here. And even if this is all for real, they are going after the wrong freaking guys. The elders are just pawns following orders from HQ. Brooklyn is where the decision makers are and that is where change will have to come from. This little episode is not going change policy.

And no, I am not, nor do I support pedophiles. And before someone accuses me of just sitting on my ass and not caring for the children, take into consideration that I've helped many more people out of this organization than I have ever helped recruit into it.

exactly. the people sitting in the hall during the meetings have no idea whats going on. they honestly believe they are in Gods only 'true' organization. they dont know any of the things that go on behind closed doors. they dont know any of the false prophecies and double standards and all the other things that prove the Society is a fraud.

they are innocent victims that were subjected to that display and i guarantee you that for most of them it will only further cement in their minds the fact that the 'world' is wicked and Satan is the leader of the world.

if the goal of ex jw's who care is to get their friends, family members, and fellow victims out of there then they are so wrong in thinking this is the way to go about it.

if i was present during a display like this, even in my df'd state, i would run back to the org and become reinstated, thinking to myself 'geez, this really must be the truth since they are making up lies and attacking us'. of course this reasoning makes no sense to you guys but its how jw's think, at least all the ones i've ever known in my life. 'they persecuted me and they will persecute you also'..remember? i'm sure that scripture was being read by a lot of them afterwards.

not only that but why and how could they do that with children present?

of course this is just being written from the point of view that this so called meeting actually took place. in the posts i have read no one has given any kind of proof that it did and i'm far from convinced. i cant imagine any elders inviting them to the hall to discuss this on a meeting night and then discussing it from the platform with 200 people present. that is so far fetched its hilarious. and the elders cursing and getting ready to physically fight the cops?? puleeeeeaase.

but then again, i think the whole idea of the organization i grew up in and who's teachings i whole heartedly believed to the point of trying to murder myself for not living up to the standards being a fraud is so far fetched that its hilarious also.

i am one confused chick to say the least! but i'm basically convinced of the latter and hardly convinced of the former.

I have a couple of questions for you. Not necessarily to attack but to clarify for everyone here who may have some suspicions. If you are outing yourself then there should be no hesitation in your answers.

Where did you get that phone #? Were you in the room at the time? Did you have a pen handy to write down? How do you know they will ask all those questions when you call that number? Did you call the number? If you weren't in the room and you didn't overhear the number and write it down, how did you get the phone number? I have a hard time imagining you asking one of the elders in the room, who have just been attacked by apostates, "Hey do you mind if I have the phone number to ask about this apostate website?" Why didn't you reveal your sources and add credibility for those you are asking to "join" with you? If you are willing to take the lead in this mass exit from the JW's then you should have no problem explaining these questions.

Keep in mind, I am not attacking you at all. I am merely asking questions before I "join". Do you understand that when someone asks an EX-JW to JOIN something that there will be some questions before they just jump on the band wagon?

Plmkrzy I understand your concern but when someone tries to make a differences for the better of all don't be so quick to prevent it. If we work together we can do this. If there weren't so many people trying to hinder the work of those who are actually out there trying to make chances, chances would come and the pain we all have suffered because of these doctrines would end we could start rebuilding our lives again. Just think about it.

When I was a kid, and got mad or fighting with brothers or whatever, My mother (not a jw) would always ask me "What would Jesus do?"

Well I'm pretty sure He wouldn't cuss, ask for gag orders, or men behaving badly. Of course we are all human but some sure portray and are looked up to as models in any situation.

Its kind of like trying to bring down the mafia. People won't talk, everyone knows whats going on [save the wife & kids], enuf with the crime. You have to start small and look for a serpico or valachi to get to the top of the tower.

since when is asking questions and being cautious and skeptical 'hindering' the work? doesnt it seem odd to you that someone who is upset because of the organizations mind control and lies would then ask us to do the same thing as the org has made us do all those years?....

namely, 'dont question or try to find proof of what I am telling you, just believe it cause I said its true'. 'if you ask questions and try to make me prove what i am saying, its because you are 'childish' and i 'dont have time for your shit'.

sounds kinda like kicking someone out of the org because they ask too many questions.

guess i'm not welcome to join your little crusade either because i refuse to give up my free right to think for myself and ask questions of anything i need clarification on. i was given a brain for a reason and i wont be blindly following anyone again ever. the truth is always the truth and it can always stand up to scrutiny.
