White elephant: an object no longer wanted by its owner.
Pink elephant: seen by the inebriated.
Elephant in the room: an obvious problem no one wants to talk about. I don't think its color matters.

When I first saw the word hors devours, I pronounced it this way "Whores devours".
I pronounced lasagna as la - sag- na.
Edited to add the "s".
