Resurrection: A Cruel Joke?

A few months ago I read an article about this in Discover Magazine. As I realized the implications it gave me a sick, eerie feeling.

In short, suppose memories of the deceased are collected and downloaded into a program?

What you are about to see is a prototype program for what I suspect may be robotic construction for the near future of resurrecting loved ones who have passed on. In this film, the robot has not been fed responses, but is thinking for itself from what has been downloaded into its memory bank.

So is this stale news or something? No comments?

Nobody else thinks this is a bit, er, spine tingling?

Already this "life form" appears to be using some reasoning powers: searching through it's data base for memories and appropriate responses. It does seem to have a little difficulty following the conversation at intervals. But hey. It's new; it was just created.

Is it possible that we are looking into a dark mirror that exposes our own creation? Could it be that beings of higher intelligence and consciousness created us in a similar fashion?

Could it be that after this artificial life form becomes more proficient in it's reasoning and response powers that it could eventually develop a consciousness.....knowing right from wrong?

Is this what happened to us? Is this why the scriptures say "They have become like us, knowing good and evil?"

Could it be that WE are actually the Artificial Intelligence who have taken over the planet?

its rather strange isnt it, it doesnt make me comfortable thinking of dead loved ones being downloaded on to a computer...

I wonder if there is some portion of the brain that would be used to transfer a persons memory into a new artificial body? maybe the pineal gland? Cells have memory. Surely whatever entity created us ....

But then again, if our Creators said we were doomed to die for having this knowledge of good and evil....perhaps humans are creating these other "life forms" in defiance?

    No worries KW13.

"Apostates" will probably not qualify to be resurrected nor to have their loved ones resurrected. I imagine there would be a lot of expense and jumping through hoops.

Maybe just the GB will be allowed.

OMG! What if they bring back the fearless leader through this method?

Gives a new meaning to Talking Heads, doesn't it?

I find this very fascinating, and also wonder about the next generation of this sort of thing and how much of a leap there will be in reasoning power. I think you've posed some interesting questions, cameo.
