Now you see...THIS is what happens when you go LOOKING for errors and inconsistencies in God's word.

God's word is Jesus, not the bible and while there are some contridictions and errors ( none of them in regards to faith), more often then not they are just simply different views of the same event and other times simply opinions or statments taken out of context.

I don't beleive the bible to be inerrant, but I don't think it has so much errors that it is useless, it just must be read for what it is and not for what it isn't.

PS: . When you loosen the constraint the bible is 100% consistent, it makes a *lot* more sense.

    1) My God, My God, Why hast thou forsaken me?
    (Matt. 27:46; Mk. 15:34; Ps. 22:1)

    2) Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do (Lk 23:34)

    3) Verily, I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise (Lk. 23:43)

    4) Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit (Lk. 23:46)

    5) Woman, behold thy son…Behold thy mother (Jn. 19:26-27)

    6) I thirst (Jn. 19:28)

    7) It is finished (Jn. 19:30)

This is not about what IS TRUTH but the similarities that these groups have in proclaiming what THEY BELIEVE to be truth.

Well yes, but the same could be said for any world view that puts forth its model. But the similarities end with their acts of proclamation.

The fact remains that determining truth by means of the Word and Spirit is vastly different from both JW's and atheists because they both reject the idea of being born again, which is the only way to get the Spirit which will guide the believer in truth in conjunction with the Word of God.

oh yah, JWs and atheists are alike because neither part determine the truth by using "spirit".

    I agree with that.

All three of the 'inspired gospels' say that Jesus' statement was just before dying!

Was it, or wasn't it? You can't have it both ways -"The inspired word of God says that Jesus last words before he died were....... oh but he said many things on the cross.... oh but different eyewitnesses saw different things and heard and recalled things differently..... oh but God's word is inspired and can be relied on for 'truth'"

In that sort of circular reason I call Bullshit!

Where does it say they were his only words?

Dude, you are being closed minded in this.

Again, there was only ONE person who wrote anything that was there and that was John and he wrote AFTER the others and he said just this:

    The Crucifixion

So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17 Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called Golgotha). 18 Here they crucified him, and with him two others—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.

19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: jesus of nazareth, the king of the jews . 20 Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. 21 The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.”

22 Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

23 When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.

24 “Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it.”

This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled which said,

“They divided my garments among them

and cast lots for my clothing.” a

So this is what the soldiers did.

25 Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, “Dear woman, here is your son,” 27 and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

    The Death of Jesus

28 Later, knowing that all was now completed, and so that the Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29 A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. 30 When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

Fact is, John knew of what they others wrote and just wrote what the others hadn't, like he did in most of the GOJ.

There is no conspiracy here, just different people's accounts of what they saw ( John) and what they heard from Peter ( Mark), what they heard from fellow apostles ( Matthew) and what they research from everyone they could (luke).
