Eel is not so readily available here in the UK these days, but Conger Eel is and is absolutely delicious. Just like a good cod steak but sweeter.

BTW, when I went to the Marine Museum in Monte Carlo, Monaco a few years back they had the mediterranean version - some of them are splotched white and brown (or green).
