The surrounding sentences of that article makes even less sense when one stops to think what they are saying

Guard Against Being Deceived Sept 1st 2010 page 11

"...... Gen 3 :1 - 5. That was the first great deception, for even though humans were given the freedom to choose what they would do, they were not created with the ability to determine for themselves what is right and what is wrong.Only God himself as Creator and Sovereign has that right and authority. What a delusion to believe that the right to choose between good and bad means the right to determine what is good and what is bad ! Unfortunately we imperfect humans easily fall into that trap."

That is not logical. Are they saying that God gave the responsibility of choosing right and wrong to humans that had not been equipped with the intellect to determine what right and wrong are? That would be both foolhardy and cruel. Would a parent allow or force a five year old child to decide morals for himself, when he was not capable of knowing what was good for him? They make God out to be stupid.

As Street 76 said above, we are condemned for not "Choosing the right religion" when apparently we have not the ability to determine which is right or wrong.

According to the Dubs (and many other literalist fundies):

Right = Eating from all except one tree because that's what you are told to do

Wrong = Deciding it's really ok to eat from all the trees regardless of what you are told to do

And that is ALL THE INSTRUCTION they were given!!! No reasons. No moral guidelines. Just do this and live or do that and die. Yeah, that "God" sounds like a really great leader.

Thanks to Plato, we have a few leaders that are perpetuating that God-inspired scam about needing someone to decide for us what is good and what is bad.

I gotta hand it to you, WTW, your train of thought jumps the track spectacularly at times.

For my next vacation, I think I'd like to spend a week in your mind. It would be more exotic and surprising than a raft trip down the Amazon!
