In Ballarat Victoria, australia, under the floor of the garage in a little yard, it a pile of WT literature.

in 1974, expecting banning and persecution, mother and we 3 children dug a hole and buried Bibles, watchtowers and god knows what.

I wonder if it is still there?

took a look on google earth and the shed still stands!!!

No; it would seem better to stash a bible.

Yep, same happened in our family except in about the mid-1960s I think. Was this an Australian thing?

No, I heard of an older sister who did it in this area (US); she stashed during WW2 also....30 years before.

My parents hid bibles all over the place in the 70's. Our home was built during the 40's and the kitchen design left a lot of 'hidey-holes' between cupboards and drawers. I remember how all the green NWT's ended up in there.

I don't recall any publications in those hiding spots. We were sooo prepared for the great tribulation. Now my parents are in their 70's. ....still waiting....

not in 1974, sometime after mid 1980's, maybe very early 1990's. There was Wt study that was talking about hiding literature. After the WT study, I was so brain dumb, so I hid some literature in the forest.

God all these stashes of literature!

In 2010 we stashed all ours in the recycling bin.

Hi Oz, we didnt hide it, though Mum would always point out perfect hiding spots should we come under persecution.... Plenty of old mine shafts in Ballarat! Cheers, Mattieu..

I guess we were a little different. I remember when talk of banning handguns was in vogue back in the 70s so my family hid all the guns.

(don't ask me why a JW family had guns. We just did)
