I enjoy opera. My mother is a fanatic. I didn't like it much until they put the supratitles into the Seattle Opera, minus the translation it's just people wailing in Italian or something. My appreciation is much greater now. This last year I've seen Il Trovatore and Falstaff.

My parents met Pavarotti through an Italian medical research group. When Jose Carreras was diagnosed with leukemia, he came to Seattle so Dad's team could treat him.

Some where back in the past my mom mentioned to him that she'd never met Placido Domingo. A couple of weeks later a letter with tickets and back stage passes to a concert in San Francisco showed up in the mail.

I've seen Carmen several times, but just love Maria Callas' Carmen. I think I read she never performed the opera, just sang the song in concert, could be wrong. She is so playful and flirtatious as she sings about love. Just now thought...she probably was thinking about Ari.
