80----90 miles off the coast...south of Vermillion Bay
Rumor has it there were 13 on board; 12 have been accounted for (they are all OK) and one missing
Vermillion Oil rig which is owned by Mariner Energy based out of Houston
It is just west of the Deepwater Horizon catastrophe and in the same vicinity.
I wonder if there is some "natural disturbance" in the area causing this?
Conspiracy stories in 1....2....3...wait for it....
Sad.

Two in the same year?
Is this one of the rigs that was ordered to shut down in the moratorium?

Yep....the story's just breaking.
Here we go again: http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/100902/world/us_gulf_rig_explosion
Some are saying the rig is owned by BP, is not in production, and was in the process of being sold off to pay for the Deepwater Horizon spill.

PS: in the process of being sold to Apache energy:

It's not BP.
Mariner Energy.
OK, but Apache is still taking it over. Merger worth 2.7 billion.
