JWoods, by that reasoning used against you, if someone starts a Holocaust or slavery thread, and you don't mention how wrong it was in your post, then obviously you are for it.

By that reasoning, I guess I am also guilty of killing and eating children in my basement like the witch of Hansel and Gretel. By sound reasoning, I am asking Justicia for an apology - as I never have been and am not now in favor of registration of U.S. Muslims.

Sam, maybe some mosque will simply have a Bible-burning, a tit for tat if you will..........Naw! I expect a beheading. But, of course, the lefties will say the blood for the one beheaded is on Rev. Jones' hands. Nary a mention will be made about the radical attrocity. I, for one, hope he will instead, simply stand up and preach a sermon of peace. He will have all the cameras in the world upon him and should take advantage of it.

Allow me to demonstrate the nuance. History tells us that there was a substantial number of Germans who didn't really support Hitler, but there were less Germans who stood against Hitler.

I wonder what the world outcry would have been if, nine years after the end of WWII, an unknown pastor in Florida declared that he was going to burn a pile of Mein Kampf?

If you look at the thread, I posted the question incredulously that anyone could actually believe I was for registering Muslims in the U.S. like foreign agents.

Still can't quite write those words, can you.

I looked at your response, and immdiately responded that you DID need to state just that.

    Endorsement of Westboro Baptist Church

In March 2010, Dove World posted a video which decried the possibility of an openly-gay mayor (in this case, current mayor Craig Lowe, who is the first openly gay mayor of Gainesville). It also posted a sign saying "No Homo Mayor"; after Americans United requested the Internal Revenue Service to investigate the sign as an undue participation of a non-political tax-exempt organization in the political process [ 15 ] , the church then changed the sign to simply read "No Homo" [ 16 ] .

On April 18, 2010, members of the church participated in a joint protest with the Westboro Baptist Church against homosexuality [ 17 ] ; the protest took place in front of Trinity United Methodist Church and the University of Florida Hillel.

Later, on April 21, Dove World member Fran Ingram published a blog post proclaiming the church's endorsements of the Westboro Baptist Church's protests against homosexuality and homosexuals [ 18 ] .

You seem completely unable to grasp one simple fact Woods. We are supposed to be better than this. The Taliban/Muslim Extremists are.............gasp! Extreme!!!! Well, duh. Are we supposed to be gauging our standards by them? I want to know what it is about America that the righties supposedly love so much when they are always trying to bring us down to the lowest levels.

Yes, sometimes you can win over your opponent by being "better" than them and hoping they will rise to your standards

Dark Side, I think you might misunderstand. No one that I know of is asserting they we should maintain our standards so that they will copy us, though it would be great if they did.

We are saying that we need to not harm ourselves by lowering our standards to theirs.

It is like certain circles infantilize Muslims. They aren't responsible for the stupid, evil things they do.

    The victims are.

    It is like Stockholm Syndrome.

If I assume that Muslims will react to this with violence, am I engaging in the soft bigotry of low expectations?

Well, since my name got mentioned a page or two back while I was gone - let me set the record straight:
    1) - as others have pointed out (thanks) I have NEVER advocated registration of Muslims in this country. Nor did I advocate dropping nuclear bombs on Islamic men, women and children, or denial of U.S. religious freedoms to Muslims - as one uber-pro-Islamic poster seems to be suggesting.

I just posted the above about three pages back and three hours ago on this thread.

What the hell is the matter with you, Justicia???

Justitia has not disavowed those Quran verses, she must obviously be for violent jihad against any that do not accept the message of Allah.
