AS I POSTED EARLIER, I am starting to suspect this may be semantics...AND it may have everything to do with my legal background. Law places much emphasis on the difference between saying something in the postive and saying something in the negative, e.g., Negative= I am not for legislation requiring the registration of Muslims, Positive=I stand against legislation requiring the registration of Muslims.
The negative requires no action; the positive requires action.
The effects between the two were well documented in Nazi Germany, but since THAT seems to be a loaded analogy, allow me to provide another.
Negative=I don't think it is right to rape women (no action). Postive= I will stop any person I see trying to rape a woman (action).

If your wife asks you if you love her...it would probably be best NOT to respond to her as you did to me...with a "do I REALLY have to answer that?" It would be best to respond with a postive, "YES I DO!"
