Peter: Then, at this point, your question is pretty much rhetorical, yes? And any true answer someone gives would be moot? --Inkie

What is the most important thing in any relationship??

Comunication.... how can you have a relationship that is one sided?

I stopped this talking to the air sometime ago.

If our realationship is important to IT... It knows where I am.

According to some, you're predestined to spend eternity in Hell and you're not one of His children.

Me? If it makes you feel better, do it. If not, why bother?

All prayer does is give you an opportunity to thnk out loud, as far as praying to some benevolent entity, you should like pray to the porcelian god in your bathroom,at least that one will accept what you spit up or drop off so to say. It won't talk back to you just like God doesn't. Ahd to have have a relationship when it is so one sided, is no relationship at all.

Society sees talking to oneself as aorm of mental illn ess, sowhat does that tell ya,like you I quit praying some time back as i realized i was just talking to myself and no one was out there answering me, comforting me or anything else.

When I hear someone say leave it up to Jehovah, it just means screw it to me, that is about the same thing and accomplishes the same thing too.

Prayer is a christians way of smoking pot. I would be all for it if there was ever a clear cut answer just like the old testament says so got, buttttt hell will have frozen over six or seven times before that happens.

another idiotic thought slipped through the recesses of what I call my mind, and that is spanking your monkey gets more results than praying to the air. try it and you will see it's true. Said tongue in cheek of course.

Why bother? Jehovah seems to have his agenda as to what you are going to get and what you will not, and that is not affected by such a tiny detail as your needs. So I quit wasting my time trying to make that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag happy.

If one feels a need or a connection, then prayer/meditiation/chanting, etc., have all shown positive effects on the body. Most of us have head of or read the studies.

However, if you don't feel it...then it doesn't help...time to move on.

God isnt santa clause. He is hands off. Terrible things happen to people and they never get help. Youre mad at a God that doesnt exist. Its all in your head. The real God is the stillness and peace of love. If you can connect with that you will have a different outlook on life. This new outlook will change your universe.

Prayer is not about asking for things. Prayer is a form of communion. It's about building a relationship.

"Ask and you shall receive" ?
