When I was a kid, my favorite was Tempest. My favorite on Atari was Adventure.
When I was in college, I was into Sonic the Hedgehog and Sword of Vermillion.

This game had a really deep and engaging story to it. It was definitely woth playing depite the buginess. Too bad the dev was so rushed.
Apparently some folks are doing a remake of this one with the same source engine as the newer Half life: episodes titles.

Anyone ever heard of a Sc-fi RPG called "BioForge"?
Yeah man. Made by Origin Systems, one of the greatest computer game makers of all time. Any Richard Garriot fans out there?

MAME is cool but yea roms were hard to find and hit and miss. Centipede makes having it worthwhile. Other arcade favs; Gyruss, Robotron, Defender, Discs of Tron, Steel Talons, etc. PC favs; TieFighter, Descent, Ghost Recon, Battlefield 2, Civilization 4, X3, Company of Heroes

I loved several games on my Amiga 500. Those were decent gaming systems for computers at the time.
Two that first come to mind: 1) James Pond 2: RoboCod and 2) Chuck Rock 2: Son of Chuck
