Be nice Syl, you know that God cares about all of us.
We are sinners - babies, children, adults, and have no right to life.
Were it not for the grace of God, we would be hopeless.
So, in perspective, God doesn't kill anyone - we're already dead.
Sigh. So Jehovah was completely justified to take it upon himself to kill David's son for his errors? And his actions are not at all contradictory to the command that "sons must not be put to death for the errors of their fathers."
In fact he could kill me for Hitler's errors. Or your son/daughter for your errors. Just like that. For just a whimisical fun time.
Or he could bring a scourge upon Israel that kills 50,000 people because King David took a census.
So when you say God loves you, its just that you hope he does because at any moment he is justified to take you out for his own pleasure.
Tee hee hee.
I mean He doesn't care if we don't accept His view of sin and His way of resolving it.
LWT knows by now that I care about him.

I just find it interesting that so many people are willing to pick and choose what was real and what wasn't, even though the NT says that 'by faith' Noah and his family survived the flood and says that 'all scripture' is inspired of God...I'm not sure how it's possible to reconcile the two notions logically..

I believe all His ways are just.
I also believe we don't have the whole picture, therefore, shouldn't be so presumptuous as to judge God.

Syl and I are good.
BD, if you're looking for a perspective that doesn't require contortionist feats to rationalize, have you read The Age of Reason? It's available all over the Internets.

Not that I'm in total agreement with Mr. Paine but this was rather eye-opening for me. Logic and reason are solid feet to stand on.
Here are a couple of my favorite T-Paine quotes:
“Reason obeys itself; and ignorance submits to whatever is dictated to it.”
“It is error only, and not truth, that shrinks from inquiry.” <- my mom called this empty philosophy!
Looks good, cheezy. I'll check it out.
brotherdan.
Well, I think that it is good to also take these information into consideration.
In my opinion, I think that there is probably a limit in a "fundamentalism view."
