Watchtower Letter Shows Blood Doctrine Is False

    you guys have issues!the bottom line is the bible says that we should abstain from blood!Jehovah will correct you in his time!

    You explained it so simply Makonnen. Thank you. I'm going to start abstaining from blood now. If I don't abstain from blood Yahweh will correct me. By correcting you mean murder or destroy right? I certainly don't want to be murdered by God so I will start abstaining from blood.

    I am a little confused about what it means to “abstain” though, please clarify. Is it okay for me to eat a medium rare steak or any food with traces of blood in it? What about when my wife has her "monthly visitor"? How do I abstain from her? Should I avoid sitting in any chairs she has sat on? I could sleep in a separate bed during that time but I need to make sure what God actually requires. I certainly don’t want to be murdered by God.

    Um, am I reading this wrong? Don't the four components: red cells, white cells, plasma and platelets together make up "whole blood"? It almost sounds like they're trying to divide 1 into 4 instead of the other way around.

    Besides, their position most certainly has not been "consistent" over the years because years ago, you weren't allowed to accept any of the 'fractions' that JWs are now allowed to take. 'Whole blood' is rarely ever used anymore. The donated blood is generally seperated into the four components with packed red cells being the part that is used the most.

    Abstaining from Blood is an Old Jewish Law..Jesus broke many Jewish Laws..

    Are you a Christian or a very Old Jew?..

    Page 71 Reasoning Book "no fractions allowed " equated to idolatry and fornication

    pages 11-12 Aug 2006 Awake "Fractions allowed by personal decision" now it's your personal decision to do idolatry(worship idols) and fornication (screw without being married)

    If this ain't shifting sand what is it ?

    The ONE passage in the NT regarding "abstaining" from blood, if I'm not mistaken, is referring to animal blood... I think the context makes that pretty clear.

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    you are correct, because on page 71 in the Reasoing Book, they themselves only refers to animal blood.

    And the passage certainly isn't an injunction regarding medicine and medical procedure.
