These suggestions make my STICKY CHICKEN sound a little ordinary now!!
Take 8 chicken drumsticks/thighs
4 tablespoons of golden syrup
1 tablespoon Worcester sauce
1 & 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1 clove garlic
salt & pepper
Bake the chicken pieces in the oven on Gas Mk 6 for 15 mins. Mix the marinade and spoon over the chicken bake for a further 35 mins basting occasionally. Serve with salad and jacket potatoes or crusty bread.

I'm going to try Magwitch's hummus recipe. My wife and I love hummus and were planning on trying to make some. I like it on celery or on crackers and it is a great replacement for chip dip. It is also helpful in lowing cholestrol.
I live in So. California so I'm not sure if we have anything that would be considered regional so I'll just give you a meal I really like.
Huevos Rancheros New Mexico Style.
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 1/2 cups chicken broth
1 cup (or more) roasted Hatch chiles
1 clove garlic finely minced
salt
dash of cumin
Melt butter in a sauce panover medium heat. Sauted the onion until soft. Stir in the flour and the broth untill mixture is smooth. Add chiles, garlic, cumin ans simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, adding the salt if desired.
You will also need 4 corn tortillas, 1 can of black beans and eight eggs, grated cheese.
Warm the tortillas and cover the tortillas with black beans. Top with 2 fried eggs and pour green chile sauce over it and then sprinkle with cheese. Real basic but very good. Salude!
Right now it is Hatch Chile season in New Mexico. In New Mexico at this time of year they are roasted in supermarket parking lots everywhere. In my area they truck them in and are only at a few selected markets. For one or two weekends they have roasters outside the markets and will roast them for you. This year I missed it by a week. I was still able to purchase the chiles but I had to roast them myself on my grill. It took me about 3 hours to roast 35 lbs but it was fun. I'm already wishing that I would have bought 70 lbs.
Scrapple:
Pig and oink (sans bones)
Flour
Cornmeal
Salt
Bacon bits for a bacony flavor
Tiny bit of pepper.
It's easier to buy it than to make it.
