If our military did not enter WWII, do you think Hitler and the Japanese invasions would have stopped? The U.S. took a beating of too many of their soldiers lost then. They entered a terrific mess.
Now, their are little Hitlers and little invasions. Sometimes, our military have to draw a line in the sand. There are errors, some human, some deliberate. If invasions grow, as history proves it does, then there are more deaths and horrible disaster. There are still too many messes but it is not like 65 yrs. ago. The U.S. draft ended in 1973.
Most people, by far, do not like war. Unfortunately, this isn't heaven yet.
I have grown to appreciate our soldiers. I have a son, who served in the Marines and was in Iraq in 2003. For two years, he brought about 7 or 8 Marines from Camp Pendleton home for Thanksgiving. I felt privileged.
