Why incase someone had their feelings hurt?
That's exactly it.
The ever so precious, ever so fragile self-esteem of a 12 year old girl might be irreparably harmed, and would lead to a life a brazen debauchery, prostitution, murder, and torment of lizards if she were allowed to feel the anguish of failure in even the most insignificant of events.
Actually, it kind of makes sense now that I think about it.
Condition the kids to "never feel like a failure" in the artificial world of JWs, where "everybody gets on base and no one ever strikes out", then when the big bad world inevitably beats them in the tushie, they'll be programmed to go running back to mama, to security. "See? Things in the world are so cruel and harsh, not like here in the 'loving congregation'..."
And so a life of codependency begins....
