No, the Scripture actually says at 2 Samuel 12:15: "And Jehovah proceeded to deal a blow to the child that the wife of Urijah had borne to David so that it took sick." So, interestingly, God recognized Bathsheba as Urijah's wife so the child was not a legitimate heir to the throne so that's why God had it put to death.

The bible is one of the great books for the goodwill or betterment of self it promotes, in other scriptures. On the other hand, it reads like my book of (primitive violent) bible stories. Or is it my book of folklore?

The bible was written by people of a different time - when life was cheap. Genocide in the name of god is just as good an excuse to get rid of the competition as any other.

The reason that God forbids murder is that man is made in God's image. So, if a person murders another human they are in effect attempting theocide. God's decree is that all such would-be God-killers should themselves be killed. That's simple justice. A creature should not hate his Creator, it is unnatural and perverse. In the case of God's people, wether the ancient Jews or Jehovah's modern-day children, it is certainly in keeping with God's position as family head to destroy those who threaten the well being of his loyal ones. The Bible rule is very plain: Anyone who destroys God's temple will himself be destroyed by God. For those scripturally illiterate, God's temple is made up of those 144,000 anointed ones, many of whom have been murdered and are yet to be martyred, thereby bringing guilt upon the system that approves of murdering God's sons. As the Creator, Jehovah God certainly has the right to take away the life of those creatures whom he deems unworthy of continued life. Most people have the capacity to understand that, although obviously not all. / You Know

When rabid apostate fanatics wage their dirty little war against Jehovah's Witnesses, stooping to the lowest levels of slander and ridicule, they nonetheless cast themselves as freedom fighters, fighting for the liberation of poor imprisoned "Dubs." When on the other hand, the Scriptures are brought to bear on how Jehovah proposes to eliminate the whole devilish system of things, he is maligned and blasphemed as being cruel and unjust and his Witnesses are slandered as fanatics for advocating divine justice. To date the Devil’s brood in various ways has murdered many thousands of Jehovah’s sons and daughters. Some were mercilessly thrown to the lions in Roman times. In more recent years the Nazis and Communists have imprisoned and murdered many more. All the while Jehovah was remained remarkably self-controlled and has allowed the Devil to have his way with us. In fact, during the entire Christian era God has only executed three people, and two of those were anointed Christians; Annanias and Saphira by name. The other, of course being Herod. So, Jehovah is amazingly tolerant.
But as this writer has pointed out many times, in keeping with the principle that because the world has sown the wind, as a consequence, it will reap a whirlwind of its own making. Jehovah's future judgments are that this system should implode upon itself in a ghastly genocidal holocaust. So, because humans will for the most part serve as executioners for Jehovah during the Judgment, slaughtering each other through various means, including weapons of mass destruction no doubt, even the most demon-maddened apostate will not be able to wag his tongue or shake his tiny fist and accuse Jehovah. / You Know
