This is sickening and disturbing to think that American soldiers did this.

Do some still think the Trade Center terrorists came out of Iraq and that was the reason for that war? I agree we should defend against terrorists, but let's not forget it was the US who put that particular terrorist, (Hussein) into power in the first place. They also did nothing when he committed genocide in his own country, years ago. No one gave a damn about that particular terrorist act. Smoke and mirrors and the agendas of old, corrupt, greedy men. I have nothing against soldiers or the troops. Only, old, corrupt, greedy men who create the need for them.

When innocent men, women and children are dying at our hands (bad intel, casualty of war, etc) doesn't that make us terrorists as well?

Just a note about the Geneva Conventions that the US tries to comply with. These so called 'rules of war' were written with the scenario in mind of one nation at war with another.

What do the uniforms and flags look like for:

    The Taliban

    Al Queda

    Hamas

    Hezbollah

That's right, they don't have any. They are terrorists, guerillas, suicide recruiters, and religous fanatics. But they are armed and financed as well or better than many soveriegn nations. Their tactics include hiding in the skirts of women and children. Our soldiers are the best in the world but some are unable to deal with this kind of warfare by the rule book. If a true murderer in a US uniform is found committing a war crime he or she is prosecuted to the full extent of harsh military justice.

The tendency of man to go to war was one thing that legitimized the JW's for me. War is a construct of governments who's leaders seek their own benefit. Ok, Hitler had to go etc, but in general its been one investment strategy after another since then. All that death for what? So, I don't have a great respect for people who join the army to get an education and bitch when they are called on the government to murder innocent people for political reasons. That's your job so shut the hell up. No one kept my home safe by killing Iraqi men, women and children. So "I support the troops for providing my freedom" is bullshit. It's all about the Benjamins people.

I do not understand this squeamishness about the use of gas. We have definitely adopted the position at the Peace Conference of arguing in favour of the retention of gas as a permanent method of warfare. It is sheer affectation to lacerate a man with the poisonous fragment of a bursting shell and to boggle at making his eyes water by means of lachrymatory gas. I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes. The moral effect should be so good that the loss of life should be reduced to a minimum. It is not necessary to use only the most deadly gasses: gasses can be used which cause great inconvenience and would spread a lively terror and yet would leave no serious permanent effects on most of those affected. —Winston Churchill, May 1919, War Office

    Hmmm...well I'll be damned.

sooner7nc thanks for that Winston Churchill quote. Some people may have read that and thought it was Islamic Extremist that said that if you hadn't put the name at the end.

And on that link you provided to the guardian.co.uk shows even how bad the Brits soldiers where treating some of the Iraqi's.

Check out this quote..And then someone tell me we are saving them from terrorist:

A central issue of the inquiry is why five "conditioning techniques" – hooding prisoners, putting them in stress positions, depriving them of sleep, depriving them of food and water, and playing white noise – were used on Iraqi detainees. The techniques, inflicted on IRA suspects, were banned in 1972 by the then prime minister, Edward Heath.

Ya this sure sounds a lot like when the European nations went to the arab world and tried to convert them to Christianity with the Crusades. I can see a lot of parallels. Lot of blood spilled back then in the name of trying to help them. Same shit just a different century under a different pretense this time.

This little speech that Bruce Springsteen gave in 1985 right before he performed the song WAR sums it up.

As I watch this video I can't help but think how his words were true back then and even more so now.

Terror and torture are not a problem of any one nation or culture. It is a human problem. It is a problem of humans wanting to dominate other humans by any means possible. It will never be solved and we will always have terror and torture until people as a whole can overcome their desire to dominate each other at all costs.
