Why are some treated so kindly and others so badly in the JW world?

Thanks everyone for your replays. Flipper you are right about everything is about appearances. My friends back east told me about a family who was in a really bad car accident three weeks ago the mother may not live but none of the friends will help them because the father is growing a beard. Seriously no one will help this family because of the father? They were driving in a city where they do not know anyone and the local hall is like nope no help not with him having a beard. You are right it is all about appearance. They have nothing to gain by helping this family so why go out of there way. The poor family is living in the hospital because they have no place to go, they hospital is allowing them to stay in a room and pay. I am sure they do not have the money but oh well the father should not grow a bread. That is what Jesus would have done right?

I just do not get it still with this young family. I am truly glad they have support do not get me wrong but it is so way off from what I have seen myself. I just truly hope the father dose not become a JW now after all these years.

I just sometimes get so down, I have never experienced love in this cult even though I tired so hard to fit in. I know I am not alone, it just hurts sometimes at how hateful they can be.

Do they have a biblical reason for also including the children of the "marks" in on the shunning?

I was df'd in 86 and my children have been largely ignored by my family.

I remember hearing reasoning that since children of the ones who died in the flood died with the parents, (remember the awful image of the woman clutching her baby while being drowned by Jah? wasn't that in the children's book? those monsters) that meant that those children would probably have turned out like their parents. Could it be a similar reasoning? Like ignore the children, they will become just like the parents.
