If a JW employee is Dfed and subsequently fired, and files a wrongful discharge suit against their former employer...would that lawsuit (obviously not making the org look good) get in the way of the person's reinstatement?

I'm assuming that in your scenerio the business owner is a JW, correct? And the DFd person was fired as a result of his being DFd?

If a JW business owner fired a DFd JW and the DFd JW contacted the EEOC or filed a lawsuit, it could (probably would) affect any attempt at reinstatement since dubs aren't supposed to sue one another. Even if he's DFd and not officially a brother, his actions of suing a JW would show the elders that his attitudes and actions have not been reformed since being DFd.

Not agreeing with it, just saying that's how it's gonna go down...

this is my story in relation to this topic:

i live on a small island (pop.=140,000) in the UK

back in the late 1980's i worked self employed as a double glazing salesman.

because the company i represented went bust (quite common in that industry ) i went to work for another company

owned by a jw elder AND his wife--both i had known well in my jw days.

    i needed a job & he needed a good salesman ( i was shit hot )

all went well---business flew in, i got paid ---everyone happy---what could go wrong???

    ENTER THE CONGREGATION

the other elders were not at all happy (surprise surprise )

they told my boss if he did not get rid of me he would lose his position---he protested his business needed me

no avail---it was then said because he was "associating" with an apostate he could be DF'd AND HIS WIFE !! because she was a director of the business!

    you can guess the rest

i hold no animosity toward that bro--he was put in a no-win position--he told me if the bastards hadn't involved his wife he would have told them what he thought.

we met up years later, still chat to each other, totally nice guy---hope he sees the REAL light one day.

Ok Bigmac, thanks for relating. IF you were someone who was seeking to be reinstated when this all happened, and decided to sue the elder for wrongly dismissing you, how do you think your elders would have viewed your actions...and do you think your lawsuit would get in the way of your reinstatement?
Also, could you sue the cong for blocking your reinstatement because of a lawsuit?
