I mentioned this on the previous page but it bears repeating:

Anything said in Awake! is merely propaganda for the public to read. It isn't doctrine and it isn't official policy of the Watchtower. It is PR spun for public consumption.

Pretty much, my Dad got his hands on some stuff I wrote online that showed pro-LGBT views and showed that I visited a gay ex-JW site (hehe doesn't know about this site lol). He asked me if I ever did anything with a guy and I said no. Of course, that's a stretch. So this is where I'm at.

I see two choices:

1. Deny, deny, deny. They need two witnesses to prove wrongdoing if they can't get a confession. Lie like hell, if you have to.

2. If you don't care about getting DFd, just DA yourself up front without trial or admitting anything and be prepared to be shunned in the long run.

Bottleofwater, Welcome! I've known some gay people in my time, and some while I grew up who were confused about what they wanted out of life/what they were gonna do about it. If you try to stay in the WT$ for whatever reason, you will regret it somewhere down the line. Even (worldly) parents give their kids a hard time about their sexuality, WT$ will be even worse. WT$ will make you hate yourself, plain and simple. I know people that were in the WT religion that were lesbian, and they took their life back when they walked out. It really is up to you how you deal with it. If you allow the 2 elders to talk to you, they will make it go their way. Nobody says you have to see them. It'll probably just piss you off when you hear what they have to say to you. If somebody told me I couldn't practise heterosexuality, I'd be bloody livid.

They are trying to foist a bronze-age religious view on you and your life. Use your power of choice.

Just found out that they're coming to our house for a "visit" today. My Dad's the Coordinator of Body of Elders.

bottleofwater- good luck. Just remember that they have power over you only if you let them. Don't answer anything you don't want to, you are not in a court of law. You're a grown man, you do not have to discuss your sexuality with anybody- even your dad.

You could maybe say that you were messing around and winding some gays up on the site. Say you've done it before, and you thought it was funny. Maybe say that you chat to them, gain their confidence, then make dates with them and don't turn up, coz it's funny. Maybe say you got a guy to fly 200 miles to meet you and you didn't turn up...you're sorry etc.

They probably might not buy that, or any other excuse. Hard to say.

The other alternative is to look at some nasty hetero porn, leave the drive not cleared, and confess you've been looking at porn. They'll see the chicks, you might get a reprieve...maybe out of relief. Depends how good an actor you are, and what they've already decided to do to you.
