That is very sad that an entire congregation of Jehovah's people would just 'walk out' on the Society.

Would it have been very sad if Jim Jones congregation walked out on him?

Would it have been very sad if the Branch Davidians walked out on David Koresh?

Would it have been very sad if The Family had walked away from Charlie Manson?

I for one, do indeed appreciate their hard work in producing the 'spiritual food at the proper time' that has been noursing to my soul, and those of my family.

Were the followers of those people grateful for their 'spiritual food'?

    Hi witnessofjesus

If you want to leave, then do so, but why slander those whom Jehovah has appointed to 'take the lead among us'?

People who left the above religions were frowned upon by their ex-leaders too. How do you know that claims made your new leaders that Jehovah has appointed them to 'take the lead among us' are correct? What is their claim? Do they claim that they were selected in 1919 to be God's sole channel of communication in our day? That is a pretty extraordinary claim. If is is correct, what should you do? If it is wrong, what should you do? Is questioning the claim a sin? Is questioning the claim a slander? How do they arrive at the date 1919 for this event?

Jehovah's Witnesses do not have any moral high ground to look down on their ex members from unless they can prove their claim to have been selected in 1919 any more than Mormons, the Moonies or the Manson family are entitled to look down on people who no longer accept their claims as being Truth.

    Welcome to the forum

    WitnessofJesus,

I'm trying to understand where you're coming from.

Are you a Jehovah's Witness now or just investigating the organization and appreciating some of their teachings?

If you don't mind telling us, what was it that led you to leave the Mormon church after all those years?

    witnessofjesus:

Examine the reality about 607BC. It''s not a date for the fall of Jerusalem thus even if one doesn't know anything about wts' past but knows only current teachings one will see that because 607BC is wrong, 1914 is nonsense so therefor Jesus never appointed faithful and discreet slave in 1919 therefore governing body is a fraud and anything they say cannot be trusted. Do yourself a favor and research wts from it's birth as it's as bogus as mormans are.

When I was a child in the 1970's, the entire Greek congregation in Vancouver, BC was disbanded due to apostasy on the part of most of the elders. The elders were all df'd and the loyal congregation members were split up and sent to neighbouring congregations.

    WOJ:

The latest jewel in the crown of Watchtower theology:

When Jesus spoke of "the generation", he was speaking to TWO GROUPS. Not just TWO GROUPS, but TWO OVERLAPPING GROUPS. Why? Because Joseph had brothers.

    That's "hard work"?!

I've seen better theology on the last square of toilet paper I used.

witness of no one-jehovah has NOT appointed the wts to do his will-they have presumptously declared that he has.

I rarely post here because most of YOU here are very negative about the WTB&TS and I for one, do indeed appreciate their hard work in producing the 'spiritual food at the proper time' that has been noursing to my soul, and those of my family.

Oh yes, the WTB&TS...the very ones who make policies hat cover up for child molesters...the ones who dispatched CO's to threaten the victims and their families with df'ing for coming forward about this massive problem. Yes, ya gotta love those guys!

If you want to leave, then do so, but why slander those whom Jehovah has appointed to 'take the lead among us'?

Yes, it's so easy to leave, that is, if you don't mind losing your family. Where is the proof that Jehovah appointed the Watchtower to take the lead in anything? Was it that glowing passing of the inspection in 1919 when the Watchtower members were doing things that they are now df'd for?

Don't forget about the congregation in northeast texas! Was it paris tx?? somewhere close to there!

CBB, wasn't that in Bonham, TX?

I seem to recollect during the late '70's there was a rift developing in FRANCE over some question of loyalty to the GB, on a matter of either leadership or doctrine. I would love someone to throw light on this.

A vote was taken in all congregations throughout France. Individuals abdicated, but all but a handful in a small CONGREGATION in the French Alps defected.

Can anyone verify this story? What was the issue and did many, in fact, leave as a result of the vote?
