How do YOU view salvation? 2 Stories

    Brotherdan makes a good point.

Unlike WT dogma where Jehovah sits safe in Heaven and sends Michael/Jesus to us and he does the suffering, it's God Himself, God the Son, who came for us and suffered.

The proof is your life. Live your life as a Christian and you will see it for yourself. God's there. He just asks you to come to Him.

Besides that, I can't tell you. You have to experience it for yourself. And when you ARE living with Christ then you will see the proof. I've seen it myself, and it's something that I never experienced as a JW.

But once you get too cynical, then you are less likely to accept His offering.

I find both stories full of a preconceived bias. That there is a creator, that humans are the center of His work, that we are somehow seperated from the Divine...aren't there better stories out there?

    Sorry to be rude...

To answer the question: I view salvation, if it is needed, as universal and not contingent upon anything at all.

I think it is important to understand that our personal revelations are just that: our own. We interpret them as Christ or Holy Spirit because those are the words we know to label them with. But if we're not careful, our labels become limitations and we're putting the Christ, the Holy Spirit, The Way, or whatever speaks to us into a compartment of our own making which we often believe is exclusive, when it is really inclusive.

The path of others may be different from mine. And yours. And yet we are all on the path.

That's fine voideater, and I respect that. No rudeness taken.

But according to the Bible (if you so choose to believe it) that is NOT how salvation is to be viewed. Those 2 stories were for Bible believing Christians. Somehow all my threads directed to Christians only get answered by atheists and ags. Strange...

I don't believe God reacts to us. We react to Him
That plan was set into motion before the foundation of the world. Not as a reation to mans sin.

I'm with DD on this. God doesn't need to react to us. His door is always open. Also, yes, the plan was there from the beginning. It was not a reaction, as if God has to react. That would imply that he doesn't know some things.

To answer the question: I view salvation, if it is needed, as universal and not contingent upon anything at all.

I think it is universal too, for all those that accept it. God will not frustrate our desires for our own selves. That is called respect. Now, about the contigency thing, I'm not sure what you mean. I see the world in a state of becoming. It is on a path towards something.

But by saying this, burning ship, you are taking the matter OUT of Gods hand. He's the one that GIVES us faith. He's the one that GIVES us Grace. HE'S the one that gives us salvation.

God DOES react to us. The Bible specifically states that we can make God's heart rejoice. That is a reaction that he gets from us. When you take that away, you begin to look at God as a formless mystical entity that is almost unknowable to us. That's fine if that is your belief. But it's not what is taught in the scriptures.

I would answer more of your threads and I'm a Christian but you ignore my posts.

As I've already stated I don't believe that the two stories you started out with, are biblical.

The Bible specifically states that we can make God's heart rejoice.

A few verses would be nice.

That's not to say God doesn't rejoice with us over things.

How bout Zeph 3:17? The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He
will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.”

God sings when he takes delight in us.

How about Proverbs 27:11? Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart; then I can answer
anyone who treats me with contempt.

What about Jesus HIMSELF?!? Jesus was brought to tears when his dear friend died! His apostles made him happy and sad during his human life.

It sounds like you need a bit more bible knowledge.
