I have thought about it Cyber. I think there is alot that we don't know, and it's exciting that there is more to explore. The whole "energy" and "vibration" theories of new agers, while off the wall, I think holds some truth.
But you're right. We are all just made up of tiny particles. So what gives us the information that makes our mind work? What makes me ME? Is my body a vehicle that some elemental source is controlling that we have not yet discovered scientifically (i.e soul)?

BD: The thing is that many of what many people call "weird theories" might be weird but just because we can not comprehend them doesnt make them wrong. As a matter of fact many or facts, and have been discovered for many years but we dont care enough to research them and once we do we realize how ignorant and lazy we really are.
I am amazed of the level of ignorance I had for all this years. but at least now I am open for discovery. The findings are not what I wanted to be but nevertheless it is what it is.
But science is in reality a blessing.

One would not say a building does not exist because it is made of bricks; these are non-issues.
Weird theories? You mean unsupported or unvalidated theories; the "theory" of creationist flavor. Non-comprehension does not make something right either; if we cannot comprehend something then it is suspicious. There are many examples in philosophy and science of things which are weird but are not "weird."

Looking at it from a slightly different angle, we could ask how do we exist, as individuals?. I recently assessed the natures of peoples in a few different cities. I noticed that in each city, people shared a general nature w their fellow city dwellers. In one city, for instance the people that i interacted w tended to be open, trusting, supportive and happy. In another city, the people tended to be serious, low key, anally retentive, even downcast.
People tend to have a group mentality. What if they transcended their mentalities through something like meditation? In the meditation state, everything, personality traits and the ego can dissappear, except the point of awareness. Of course, when the meditation stops, the person emerges refreshed and most of it rushes back in. However, my question is, is the personality real? True, much of our feelings are chemical based, ie brain chemistry. However, to an extent, they too can be transcended. Just some thoughts.
