I recently heard of a pregnancy hormone that is supposed to help with weight loss, I forgot the mechanism of action but at least somewhere in the program the set point is supposed to be changed. It's made out of horse urine.
No R. Kelly jokes please.

Probably progesterone. I don't know that it ever helped most pregnant women - you usually gain during pregnancy (in addition to the fetal weight).

no I'd remember if it was progesterone, I think it was Human Choriogonadotropin/HCG...
And men use it too.

Anyone interested should read the manuscript by Dr. A.T.W. Simeons M.D. It's called, "Pounds and Inches". Don't even consider doing the diet until you have read his paper. Dr. Simeons explains clearly how it works.
And it really does work - even for men.
You are on a strict 500 calorie diet. The pregnancy hormone, HCG, causes your body to actually use 1500 to 2000 calories while you are only eating 500. You can't fudge on the foods or amounts you eat. It is very strict but it really works.
While you are encouraged to do some exercise it is not necessary for the HCG to work.
Here is one website that has a link to the manuscript - http://www.myhcgjourney.com/Pounds_&_Inches.html Unfortunately, it comes up on the screen sideways so you would need to print it out to read it. There is a book I bought called "HCG Weight Loss Cure Guide" by Linda Prinster. It is very good and has a copy of "Pounds & Inches" in the Appendix.
Don't buy HCG off the Internet. Get it from a doctor to make sure you get the real stuff.
Premarin (estrogen) is made of horse urine but I haven't heard anywhere that HCG is but I could be wrong. There is some discussion about it coming from pregnant humans but I don't know how it's made. I just know it works!!

Ok, so you do the fancy diet. Then you go back to eating in real life, and within 6-12 months you regain the weight, and then some.

I remember several years back I read that earth worms when they don't eat for a long time they actually get bigger after they start eating again, and our bodys are made of a small percentage of the same material that earth worms made of. I used to use the idea in body building by fasting several days and working out, I got very big muscles very fast and past up my weightlifting trainer.
