  Metatron, you nailed it. It really IS about happiness.

  I was scanning the Sunday am religious themed shows and once again, it's all about fear. Armageddon. Heard that many times this morning.

  Even if the end was tomorrow, just WHAT can anyone do about it? What is the point is installing fear into someone who cannot possibly alter the future anyway? We have no control of that. Church leaders use that for THEIR control over the flock.

  Besides all that nonsense, doesn't the Bible indicate in the book of John, that we are already saved? Those who preach the bible, should actually practice it.

  NB. I am referring to the New Testament only. I have no time for the Old Testament. Certainly that does not seem to be inspired by anyone with love in their hearts for sure. Bill.

  Your advice is priceless. I wish that every new member automatically received that advice in a PM when they first logged in. It's really hard when you get bombarded with "Don't you care about your family?!" to keep your mouth shut.

  Also in that email, there need to be rules of thumb for fading quietly:

  1. Trust no one in the org. They are zombies who have lost thinking ability.
  2. Never email anything even remotely critical of the society, JWs, or doctrine.
  3. Don't answer the door or phone if you suspect an elder is on the other side.
  4. "Fade" is the key word. It's gradual. Dropping off all meetings at once is not subtle.

  These are just lessons I learned the hard way even though that advice is in different places all over the forum. I'll shut up now.

  There are usually a couple disasters at any given time..

  That are Absolutely Ficticious..

  And..

  The majority of posters don`t catch on..

  If the story given doesn`t make sense..There is a reason..

  Look for Clues!..Or..Remain Clueless..

  Very good advice Metatron..

  Sometimes when we learn things that open our eyes, we want so badly to share that information with those we love. We forget they are still under the mind control of the WTS and wont have any of it.

  I almost ruined my relationship with my mother before I took this advice.
