Why does God need your worship?

So this is a serious question. We are really nothing compared with the whole universe. Our physical bodies are really just made of simple components that are found everywhere on earth.

If God is so intelligent and so loving and has all the power in the world. why does he need our worship? I mean he can create another universe if he wants right?

Heck he can destroy all the angels and demons and the planets and start all over right? in a snap. All it takes for him is to want it and he could created all new.

But he choses instead to let all run its course. This failed humanity and he really wants you to worship him.

He created us so we would worship him. And he made it difficult to understand, find and decipher. And not everyone knows how to. But if you look for him you will understand him... Right?

So tell me why you think that God need you to worship him and how.

how can you love him if you have never seen him? if there is no proof of his existance? only your feelings, and emotions tell you he is alive?

Theists would argue that God doesn't "need" anything, including worship.

However, the book ascribed to him by Chreistian believers, makes the point about a bazillion times that God wants, even demands worship.

I think a far more interesting question is, why does a God described as the very definition of love, expect worship?

I love others, yet I do not want them to worship me. In fact I recoil at the thought.

Why is God so petty as to demand worship and smite those who refuse?

    CyberJesus,

I believe that Jesus existed and that he was who he claimed to be. Therefore I believe that he was the image of God in that as God's Son he reflected his Father's love and true nature. Much is made about the wars and punishments in the OT but God's loving acts and words in the OT are mostly overlooked. They are there. Creation makes sense to me. To believe that something, matter, came from nothing is not scientific is it? Or do you believe it possible that something can come from nothing?

I'll echo the posters above and say that God does not need our worship. We can show our love for Him by caring for one another.

I also may not have known Christ in the flesh, but I learned about Him, learned what he did for us, and how much He loved his father and us... and I CAN and DID love Him for that. For all the times he has refreshed me In Spirit. For his loyalty, his love, his teachings, his honesty, his mercy, and his courage. But most of all, love.

But if he does not need it, then why does it matter? What, exactly, do you beleive in and why?
