Why does God need your worship?

  I think worshiping God is for us not for him its a benefit and a blessing for us.

  "This means everlasting life taking in knowledge of you and the one you sent forth"

  Life is a journey, Learning about God and gaining wisdom is part of the trip.

  The journey can pass through many stations and ports of call, Christianity, atheism, budhism, hinduism, Science etc, etc.

  Ultimately I suspect we return to God, our maker and we realize God, our maker is us, we are a part of God, spirits having

  material experiences.

  Hence the worship is for us. We are God. We are conciousness.

  According to the wt, the word worship is used in the bible as something humans did to others humans, as well. A person of lower rank might worship one of higher rank. In the bible stories, resources are scarce, and people kill each other on a whim. What better way of saving your life than showing abject veneration for the more powerful dude. If they did that to other powerful humans, it follows that the same would be done to their god. It follows also, that if you didn't worship the bible god, he was going to get you.

  W the slow processes of modernization and civilization, resources slowly become more abundent, the power of despots slowly dwindled, and human rights suddenly appeared. W these civilizing advances over the millenia, it's kind of quircky that the practice of iron age godworship has survived.

  What I don't see is why God even deserves my worship. When he makes me not attract the opposite sex just so he can have me all to himself, despite that certain of the witlesses would like nothing more than to exploit this and have me living up to a mock code modeled after the Mosaic Law, he deserves nothing more than being called Baghead and Almighty Lowlife Scumbag. I don't give a fxxx how he feels, or if he needs my worship.

  Why does God DEMAND that we worship him? Why is he so jealous? Why does he threaten us with destruction if we don't worship him? Why does he have such a huge ego?

  That's like saying a Father needs something from his children so the Father won't feel worthless for creating them.

  Any Father like that is a loser. Any God like that should be shot.
