No but I will always remember the "Daily text" that a brother read to my ill hubby when he came to visit. It was on the "Woman's mentral cycle"..one of the stupidest things I have ever seen a "brother" do.

And why in the world would that be considered a subject for a daily text or even something to bring comfort to someone that is dying?.

    Stupid!

The ridiculous "heart" article is from the 1971 Watchtower, March 1 issue. Pages 133-139.

    It is HILARIOUS!

It is also tragic and sad.

    w71 3/1 pp.135-136 par.11 How Is Your Heart?

Medical World News (May 23, 1969), in an article entitled “What Does a New Heart Do to the Mind?” reported the following: “At Stanford University Medical Center last year, a 45-year-old man received a new heart from a 20-year-old donor and soon announced to all his friends that he was celebrating his twentieth birthday. Another recipient resolved to live up to the sterling reputation of the prominent local citizen who was the donor. And a third man expressed great fear of feminization upon receiving a woman’s heart, though he was somewhat mollified when he learned that women live longer than men. According to psychiatrist Donald T. Lunde, a consultant to surgeon Norman Shumway’s transplant team at Stanford, these patients represent someofthelessseverementalaberrations [italics ours] observed in the Shumway series of 13 transplants over the last 16 months.” The article continues: “Though five patients in the series had survived as of early this month, and four of them were home leading fairly normal lives, three of the nonsurvivors became psychotic before they died last year. And two others have become psychotic this year.”

I remember a talk dealing with marital relationships? and part of the outline I guess required that the speaker had to discuss how taking the women from behind, and no it wasn't discussing anal, just from behind, was to impersonal. From the front, face to face, was more of a loving act. From the rear is reserved for animals according to that outline.

Kinda on the subject of taking one from behind, we had a speaker, who during a talk which condemned homosexuality said, and I quote.

"Anal sex is said to be very addictive, once you have tried it, it's very hard to stop"!!!!

I remember a Sunday discourse where the brother denounced "the simpsons" show- "christians should never watch a show where the main character says such a disrespectful phrase as- don't have a cow man...or each my shorts"

I had to watch it in secret, in my room with the volume way down low so my mom wouldn't catch me until I left home-

Oh...yea- and the basterd who suggested in a talk that questionable music CD's should be burned! That was a very expensive collection that ended up a melted heap (and had to be re-bought later and hid)

at Booby and AnonJW, I think that sometimes and this shows it true, the speaker puts stuff in a talk that he thinks is on point and adds to the talk. I know that when I was giving talks I would look for something that would provide a different perspective, knowing the talks would be given over and over and over and over. You get the point I am sure.
