Do you enjoy watching predators hunt and kill on Nat Geo, Animal Planet, or Discovery Channel, etc?

I've got a guilty pleasure, I enjoy watching the Great White Sharks sneak up on seals and ducks and all those teeth ripping flesh. They are beautiful creatures. Those huge bodies flying through the air with a seal in their mouth smashing back down into the water. Last night on Nat Geo they showed this Croc attack a Malibu. The Malibu actually almost got away, but his hoof got caught in his own antlers and he couldn't run as a result. The Croc grabbed him by the abdomen and pulled him deeper into the water. Then the real fun began. The other Crocs came to get a piece of the action, all the while this poor Malibu was still alive with his hoof still stuck in his antler. Then this massive King Croc as they call him came, and all the other crocs closed their mouths as the King Croc always gets first dibs. He grabbed the poor Malibu and he twisted only one time, and with that death roll, the Malibu looked like meat you get at the grocery store. All that powerf!!! Crazy!!! This morning I was treated to this lovely picture that my boy sent me in an email.

That is a heck of a picture. I don't know what I would have done if that had been me driving. Crazy picture though. That bear looks mean and determined. Like he's avenging his brother's death or something.

Let me ask you guys and gals though, do you like watching the hunt too? Or is it too much for you?

I don't enjoy seeing stuff like that.

    Deeply disturbing.

Good catch Syl!!! It was an Impala. It was fascinating, I wish I could find the vid on youtube, it was crazy. With one twist this poor animal with his hood still in his antler, the Croc just ripped it inside out. It was amazing that he has that kind of power from spinning.

To actually *enjoy* seeing one going in for the kill is a little bit too sadistic for my taste. It's only something I tolerate and accept as part of the circle of life. Doesn't mean that I ENJOY seeing it...

No way! I always thought it was mean and cruel. My dad justified it to me when I was little by saying that it was natural for them to do this.

    I couldn't accept it, ever.

    Still don't enjoy watching it.

The stuff on Lion King cartoon was as far as I could go in seeing this sort of thing.

    The food chain is facinating.

Prey vs Hunter, Hunter vs Prey.

    The eternal struggle.

I don't like the gory aspect of it, but I do enjoy the other apsects.

An entire planet, engulfed in violence, an arms race between predator and prey, even at the microscopic level.

    "Evidently", it's Intelligent Design?

    No thanks.

    It's simply how things are.
