Awesome thread and so many great points! I am a woman and I don't understand how some women really believe the weaker vessel bullsh*t and not only tolerate being treated like sh*t but think that is normal......

They believe it because they SEE it in themselves. They just don't know that it was conditioned into them. They think it's an innate weakness.

Well as for me, I am by no means weaker. If anything I think that men are weaker, don't let a man break down because once he does, he is done. A women on different levels is stronger than most men. Men in general are good at working, and providing, while women are good at providing, taking care of the kids, and tieing up the loose ends. Maybe we are considered the weaker vessel because we pretend to take the back seat when it comes to ideas, and taking care of the family,and instead letting the man think that all the credit goes to him. Even though we know that the ideas were orginiallyours to begin with. The saying behind every strong man, there is an even stronger women is true.

Evidently(tm) this "weaker vessel" stuff really just applies to Married women ...'cause have you ever noticed that the Married's are driven right up to the door of the KH, hubby holding her elbow, wielding the old umbrella (guess she might melt).. up the steps, opens door and guides her in. Helps get her coat off and put on a hanger, coats are heavy u know! Reverse that coming out!
Now catch sight of Ms Single,.. pulls into farthest & last available parking spot (late cause she's got a real job) slogging thru the puddles, wind blowing rain into her face, shoes soaking wet, hair flattened ... looking basically like a drowned rat, gets to the entrance just in time for Bro (with the wife).. to let the door close in her face! Not to be deterred, rips open that door (all by herself!!) Forget the coat, and grabs the seat in the back. Now, this is one tuff brawd not your average "weaker vessel".
Ahaa, maybe old Joe was right about women, just a "hank of hair and a piece of bone" TIC

Dysfunction I mean no disrespect but do you realize you just stereotyped what men are good at and what women are good at? I think that to move forward the stereotyping needs to stop. We are all individuals. Some women hate taking care of kids (me included) and would rather work outside the home while some men enjoy taking care of kids. There is nothing wrong either way. Also remember men compliment women and women compliment men. We are two EQUAL halves who when put together make a whole. Also I don't take a backseat when it comes to ideas and do not feel the need to play silly games such as that. I am who I am. Why are women expected to take a backseat anyway? Just saying.....again mean no disrespect.
