"Keep your eyes on the prize"
Interestingly, that slogan appears in the first issue of the Watch Tower magazine (July, 1879).
My website shows that.

There is one memory I will always have about this song:
When I was 18 or so, there was brand new young family in our hall. They had a beautiful newborn baby girl named Emily. They were really great people. Very easy going and got along with everyone.
They eventually bought their first house and were so excited. Their family was finally started. The dad was at work one day and the mom was home with Emily. Emily was sitting in her car seat as her mom was on the counter putting away cups and plates. All of a sudden the mom lost her balance on the counter and fell off. She landed right on her baby's head, killing the baby instantly.
They were devistated. They were never the same people after that (how could you NOT be?) The mom was constantly in therapy and they eventually got divorced.
Anyway, at the memorial for Emily they played this song. When it got to the line "When children's laughter fills the air, when joy and peace are everywhere" the singing almost stopped. Everyone was in tears. It was so sad.
And now that I've ruined everyone's day!!! Sorry!

Brotherdan my emotional attachment to that song is because of a terrible JW family death too. When I was 6 my friend and his family all died in a house fire- 2 little kids, dad, mom was pregnant. Still the worst funeral I've ever been to. I believe we were still in the pink songbook then, they sang that song, I could barely sing it at all. Makes me think that maybe it's unhealthy for little kids to be at funerals, especially of close family/friends.

Yeah, that song...such a nice fantasy. But the reality is so much better.
