he came down hard on the Bible in The Age of Reason and said it would be an insult to the creator to attribute that book to him.

I understand that. I actually meant it in the way that you shouldn't be afraid of learning truth or error, and that includes the Bible. If the Bible is false, then truth has nothing to fear from examining it. It will be able to prove it false. Same vice versa.

I think that quote is enlightening in all forms. Witnesses should not be afraid to see what evolution or atheism has to say. If it's false then the truth will shine. Atheists should not be afraid of what Witnesses teach as well. The only thing that runs from truth is error.

Who knows what conclusions I will come to. But I am determined to let truth shine in front of error no matter what the conclusion is.

Well, Stephen, if I've gotta stay "in" for a bit, I'm going to be the most educated person in the field of JW history ever. I'm going to know how and why things went down like they did.

That's not to say that I won't be doing biblical analysis against what they've taught. It's just what Russell taught compared to Christianity and what Russell taught compared to the future of the JW organization.

Good start Brotherdan, this will be particularly interesting to me. Studies in the Scriptures started my awakening.

    Hi Guys,

Just wanted to let you know that I wrote my first analysis of the Intro to "Studies in the Scritpures"

I thought it was extremely interesting, mainly because of how different it is to modern day Watchtower teaching. Unfortunately I know the course that C.T Russell went down, so I can't be too proud of him. But his intentions (at least in the way that he wrote them) seemed pure at the time.

Here, again is the link: jwcritic.blogspot.com

I also opened up comments to anyone. So you don't have to join or even have a google account to post a comment.

By the way, I will customize the site so it looks nicer. I just needed an outlet to write, first of all.
