I love these treads as well. My family would benefit in the long run if this thing would just colapse.

My two cents is, if you can get people in the main stream talking about JW's then it would help to expose their practices and perhaps help those who are in see it for what it really is. I.E. the South Park episode on Mormons was a riot and showed how crazy they are when you get down to the core beliefs.

Or if you could get a JW on a highly rated TV show and they stuck by a true to life script of a JW's life.

I also think billboards in JW strongholds would be a good idea as well.

We may be small but if we can mobilize like the Tea Party against the WTBTS then we may not bring them down but we could make some in-roads.

With no leader/head of a movement then there would be nobody for the WTBTS to bring suit against.

We are making great strides on the internet as well as message boards like this but there are thousands of older folks who don't get on the internet and they are the ones keeping the borgs ship afloat monetarily.

If someone does start something, shoot me a pm and I will give my email.

I'll tell you my #1 lack of men to fulfill or aspire to the leadership roles of elder and MS.

Now I know there are several who are thrust into these positions but the talent and abilties of these brothers are not what they had access to in the past.

I have a friend who's son is 14/15 and is friends with a JW kid of the same age. The kid loves to spend times and sleep over with my friends son, even taking short vacations with him. I commend the parents allowing their JW son to have a 'worldly' friend and recognizing that my friends son is an exceptional youth.

Now my point of all this the kid was supose to spend the weekend with my friend but couldn't because he found out he had to read sunday. When my friend told me this I thought wow thats rare air for a 15 year old to be reading the WT. I couldn't help but wonder was this due to his ability or the fact they have no other brothers capable or at least not enough for a good rotation.

Needless to say I would love to talk to this kid, from the way my friend describes him sounds a lot like myself coming up.

It will all come down to money. I believe the WTS is already feeling a huge downward trend in donations. The economy is so bad and their members are so poorly educated and so strapped for time that they cannot get good jobs and are the first to be laid off. I'm sure the unemployment numbers for JWs is staggering.

The internet is already a factor. Any JWs with even a hint of doubts can quickly and secretly find out many things through a google search. These people will stop giving money because they will know that it's all a fraud even if they are still pretending to be JWs for family and social reasons.

Fewer and fewer young people are going to stay in this cult. They are just not going to put up with the totalitarian ways of the WTS. Young people are too aware of other ways of life.

I believe the WTS is already shrinking. I don't think it will come down in some sudden event.

    Metaron, great subject,

Well, .. Zid was feeling "hostile" towards the borg last nite and darn, thats my feeling this morning!

I've been scouring around on the net regarding 'One world' governments, Illuminatti, 911, ...and the theory that Watchtower is backed by something more powerful than watchtower it's self. The Real Brains. I know,..I know conspiracy theories!

Now, one thing that keeps coming up time and time again, about 911, is the (fact?) that various 'special people&organizations' knew before 911 that 'something' was going to happen. For instance:

There is an unexplained surge in financial transactions made just before the two planes crashed into the towers of the New York World Trade Centre. A German firm is searching for clues into the 'last minute' transactions.

Egyptian Pres Hosni MuBarak warned the U.S. that, "Something would happen" 12 days before 911.

SF Mayor Willie Brown got a low-key early warning/caution about air travel, 8 hrs before 911.

Tom Kennedy, member of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), during interview with Dan Rather CBC ...talks about how FEMA was in place in New York the day before the attack! (little slip of the tongue!).

    >

So, if you worked at NY Bethel in 2001 or know anyone who did, did you notice anything unusual going on. What you heard or saw could be of great interest.

S hortly b efore 911, did you notice anything unusual taking place at Bethel; whether it was a sudden change in travel plans, change in procedure or instructions, a sudden silence about anything, were food supplies or paper supplies increased, were there any changes in financial accounting, rumours, more GB's or Overseers who were out of town.. more than usual, any extra security measures happening??

It would be very interesting to see whether Bethel had any early warning 'indications' like the 'special people had ....or not!

It will happen within this generation, as wannabefree said. It's close already.

Would you like to put a numerical value to generation, Mad Sweeney? You could overlap that statement for 30, 40, 50 years or more!

You are already changing the meaning of Bring The Watchtower Down. Typical JW strategy, change the definition to fit the current belief. (LOL)

That was the point. My humor is pretty dry at times.

But really, we can't realistically hope for dissolution of the corporation in its entirety. We need to define victory in a way that can reasonably be acheived.

Let's focus on one point, right now, there is no 'head' of the GB with the departure of Jaracz has left it headless, who really do you think will step up to take the reigns and be the bulldog within the GB?

Barr may be the oldest and most experienced, but he has one foot in the grave. What about Loesch? I'm just throwing ideas out there, I have no 'inside' knowledge.

Anyone want to add to what they think is going to go on with the leadership? Even in a 'committee' type setting, there is always one that is the de facto leader. Or did GB1.0 replace hardcore brown-nosers, no leadership skills, 'yes' men with GB2.0?

I really think for anything to change drastically in this cult, it will have to be top down as it has always been.

    I agree with Wobble!

    Education about the Org!

The more the people know the more they are empowered to make informed choices.

Sure some would stay but they would become lax in dedication (FS/zeal/obedience) and financial support......embracing the more social aspect or cling to 'spiritual hertitage' sentimental feelings.

"Look around you. There's a...an elder, a district overseer, two circuit overseers, and a Gilead instructor. Now I wouldn't have a second's hesitation about disfellowshipping you right here, right now, in front of them. Now that's power you can't buy! It's the power of fear."

"What will it take to bring them down?" "Leverage on the Governing Body, and a D.A. brave enough to prosecute."

"Look what your literature did to my customers!" "Buyer beware. I only told you millions living will never die. I never said they'd never die in this system of things." "But my organization--repeat customers!" "If you don't like the spiritual food I'm offering, you can buy from someone else. Assuming Christendom left anyone else to buy from."

"You going to arrest me in front of my Christian brothers?" "Don't worry. They're coming, too."

That's all I can say. Short of an awesome, masked vigilante getting the goods on them and finally exposing 'em...yeah, the availability of finformation will be the big thing that picks at them little by little. But information is only good for people who aren't in a mental prison already. Or aren't afraid to break out of one. There will always be people willing (or unwilling, but still too afraid of the risk) to be imprisoned mentally and/or spiritually. So...it might perpetuate itself, but growth will slow as the availability of information exposing them rises. Guess that's where schmucks like us come in.

To paraphrase a great man, "Hide your kids, hide your wife, 'cause we've got cult members out here, trying to recruit people."
