  it is just amazing to me how they flipflop doctrine, or worse, in this case they are just making stuff up to try to save credibility. what is more amazing to me is how the r&f dubs just swallow it. "the generation that saw 1914 would not pass away ... " how many times did we hear that ad nauseum? and how much gall do they have to change the view of a generation twice in the last 15 years? and then to change it to a completely whacky, ludicrous explanation?

  i mean, really? really?

  the whole "well we dont understand it right now but we have to wait on Jehoober" nonsense is just inexcusable at this point.

  As time gets further and further away from 1914, the WTS will purposely erase that date as any significance, putting everything they said

  about that year for the last century invalid. It was a unbibical, unscriptural devised calculation set up by Charly the charlatan.

  It sold books and many magazines and it helped in the creation of a publishing empire by men who languished in the power .

  My JW dad & mom are getting near the end of their life. Aged 85 & 83. They have been in the witnesses since 1951. I asked my mom a couple years ago " Did you ever think you'd live into your 80's in THIS system of things- or did you feel we'd be in the NEW system or paradise ? " She stated honestly, " No, I thought we'd be in the paradise when I turned 80. " I just empathized with her and said I know how she felt - as I was told I'd never get married or have children in this system. I'm 51 now with 3 adult children in their 20's. Amazing. I feel sad for my parents wishing on a pipedream

  I've known some JWS who forewent not getting married and having any children .

  Some went to Bethel to work full-time and some special pioneered.

  Sadly they are in the 70's now and life really did passed before them.

  The WTS. coercive exploitation ruined many lives and put some prematurely to their deaths before they really lived.

  What makes me furious is that they haven't changed their strategy at all--the 2009 DC was all about how Armaggedon is "imminent!" They said it over and over in virtually every talk--IMMINENT, IMMINENT, IMMINENT. I asked my husband "Okay, so what does Imminent mean?" It means, according to any good dictionary, "about to take place," or "immediate." So if a year goes by, does that mean they were lying? What about two years? Five years? At what point, I asked my elder husband, does "imminent" start to be a lie??? He gave me an aporian stare. (this is tangental but "aporia" is my new word. It means "speechless." )

  Then, this year's DC--nothing. Zip. Not a word about "imminent."

  I think the WT epitomizes the worst kind of jerk-off, sadistic rhetoric.
