This year, I have decided that I am going to celebrate the Christmas season in my own way. Even as a Witness growing up, the two-month period of November and December had always been my favorite time of year. Something about all the pretty lights and decorations and the general spirit of goodwill always appealed to me.

I went shopping for a Christmas tree the other day, but that's not what this post is about. I want to start my own traditions, and I was wondering what things some of you may do during the holiday season. Perhaps I'll steal some of those traditions. Heh.

When you are talking about Christmas, it's called 'sharing'.

    Merry Christmas.

We have a parade in our town during Christmas. We stand by, drinking hot apple cider and enjoy the Christmas parade.

Okay Aude, perhaps I'll 'borrow' some traditions? Is that better? Lol.

Decorating for Christmas starts right after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. The last float on the parade is Santa Claus and when you see him its time for decorating!

Turkey Dinner for Thanksgiving. Ham Dinner for Christmas.

The month of December usually entails DECORATING, DECORATING, and MORE DECORATING.

    Have fun!!!

We don't decorate until after Thanksgiving Day. We have a big Turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. We have something else for Christmas: ham, pork roast, beef roast etc. We have fires in the fireplace, enjoy hot spiced cider, make lots of Christmas cookies and we watch various Christmas themed movies throughout the season. We also burn "Christmas-scented" candles and play Christmas music.

Have a ton of fun and relax! Do what you and your family enjoy and don't force anything.

My son and I enjoy watchng Charlie Browns Christmas. I think I used all the Charlie Brown Holiday movies to educate him on what the holidays are. They also educated me too!

Lots of baking, cooking and decorating...standard stuff, and we always watch A Christmas Story on TBS. Also I send baked goods to all of our neighbors.
