And if the WTBTS did receive a flash of new light concerning this new arrangement , it very quickly contradicted the wonderful blessing that the congregation book study was up to very recently.

I forget about this occasionally. It was only a year before they dropped the book study arrangement, that they promoted the book study as the most important meeting. Thats what made it so shocking when they dropped it all together. I've heard so many reasons given for why it was dropped, that its hard to tell whats legit and whats not.

I hope this stuff wakes people up!!!!! Wake up people!!!

The fact that they are hammering away at this about every other month, between WT articles & KM articles, indicates that it's not going as they planned. AND that it's driving them bonkers that most people are not "following orders".

They trot out their "Matt. 24:45-47" citations about once a month - so if they are approaching that frequency with their "loving reminders" about Family Worship Night, it's an indication that they are really upset.

Good to know that once again, just like the "Pioneers Assist Others" program, this one is turning out to be a colossal failure.

Some time around 2020 or so, we'll get another letter just like the one announcing the end of the PAO program: "Family Worship Night has been such a wildly successful idea, and has been such a tremendous blessing, that it of course it makes sense to shut it down entirely."

They've always said that family heads should have some sort of family study. The FWN was simply a ruse to take attention away from eliminating the separate book study night. All they have to do is not mentioned it or mention it in passing (like the family study) and problem solved.

Clearly, very few families are using the free night for FWN. And, there's no way to police it other than asking the family head who will always answer yes.

Honestly, JWs have lost any real passion for their religion and apathy is at an alltime high (in my opinion). I'm not sure why they thought the FWN would help, other than give JWs a night off which made most happy but did nothing to cure the apathy.

Hey, Bethel monitors if you want to reignite the enthusiasm among the rank & file either: 1) set a new date for the great trib to begin or 2) make the meetings more interesting and introduce the concept of community service as a form of sacred service so JWs can feel good about something.

    On second thought, carry on!!

Dozy is right. It seems to be right out of the Mormon handbook. The

Watchtower seems to be experimenting a lot these days. With the

recent changes in the book study and condensed meetings on

Sunday one has to wonder if these accomodations are because

of the lack of interest or the decreasing commitment of the members.

I wonder how many families actually do this? Looking forward to seeing the insert as well.

Only uber convert Elder families in my congregation actually do the FWN......

Even with all the suggestions most are 'lost' in creating a program for their family.

Many single mothers and sisters married to unbelievers are struggling because they so desperately want a man to be involved or are just too plain tired.

The older ones who used to host things aren't anymore due to some 50 yr olds were using the get-togethers to facilitate under the table dating which led to YEPPERS..... 'fornication'

If they do yank the CBS aspect finally out of the meeting night I say good riddance....

All this talk makes me wonder what exactly is 'worship'.....

It's like the memorial, we don't partake, so on the FWN we don't partake. simple eh.

Most jw families didn't bother with the Family Bible Study.

They've been given a "free" night with the elimination of a separate night for the Bookstudy and they are going to take it, not devote an evening to Family worship. They will do what normal people would do - relax, watch TV, get some work done, play video games, Facebook, whatever.

They must have come to realize that with occupying the minds of the devoted only two days of the week some are waking up because of a reduced level of brain wash maintenance.
