Great idea, I quit! How's this for flipping the Waiting on Jehovah Calendar to a nice warm day in May?

Does anyone think there will ever be a good GB?
Each JW should wise up and become the governor of their own body.

Years ago, at work, we were encouraged to read Stephen Covey's "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People".
Habit #1 is "Be Proactive".
This entire book is anti-JW starting with the first Habit which directly contradicts the habit "Wait on Jehovah". My parents have been reactive their whole lives which has caused the effect that we as their children have had to help them our entire adult lives. Here are some excerpts from Habit #1.
"Our basic nature is to act, and not be acted upon." This means the WTS is forcing people to go against their very human natures. This is huge!
"The difference between people who exercise initiative and those who don't is literally the difference between night and day." I have observed how the people in my family who do not exercise initiative are miserable.
"The proactive approach to a mistake is to acknowledge it instantly, correct and learn from it. This literally turns a failure into a success."
"A serious problem with Reactive Language is that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy."
Reactive Language Proactive Language
There's nothing I can do. Let's look at our alternatives.
That's just the way I am. I can choose a different approach.
He makes me so mad. I control my own feelings.
They won't allow that. I can create an effective presentation.
I have to do that. I will choose an appropriate response.
I can't. I choose.
I must. I prefer.
If only. I will.
Can you see the WTS and JW pattern here? This jumped out at me as I read this book.

I know of one family that did wait on that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag. When I went into the cancer, they were in their 30s with two children. They started putting all material things on hold, ditching entertainment so they could lower their expenses. This allowed them to work part time, and all of them became regular pio-sneers. The children were baptized at ages 12 and 10 (), and so far as I know, they are living with their parents working part time to support the whole arrangement so they can all pio-sneer.
What they don't say is what's going to happen when they get much older. I predict that they are going to have zilch saved, and their pio-sneering is going to trigger a major health problem that is going to force them to quit work. The children will now be burdened with taking care of their old and sick parents, plus still pio-sneering (motivated by fear, shame, and guilt). All this is going to be an unbearable burden on the children, and they are going to be told to do even more field circus. Eventually, those children are going to develop their own major health problems and die prematurely.
And for what? They believe they will get a resurrection. However, you can only get resurrected just so much, as you can only die just so dead. It matters not whether you are going full blast, wasting your health and resources, or you are going at a reasonable and prudent speed. They could have worked full time, the children leaving home at a reasonable age, and done a reasonable amount of field circus instead of pio-sneering and still get resurrected. Beyond this, they would have had another 20 years of healthy living, enjoyed their lives more (what's the point of living forever if it is going to be a dreary, austere existence), and been just as alive as they supposedly will be for gunning it.

Does anyone think there will ever be a good GB?
Does anyone else think that is the perfect oxymoron.

My grandfather's father saw the invasion of the Soviet Union into Central and Eastern Europe after WW2 and he was one of the many who were expecting a liberating american counter-invasion. On his deathbed he said "Damn americans, they will not come at all. If they were willing to come, they could've arrived by now even if driving wheelbarrows, not tanks!". That was in 1950. Jesus came 2000 years ago and he said he would return soon. If he wanted to really come back, he sould have arrived by now even if riding on the back of a snail!

That picture tells a thousand words.LOL cameo. The WTBTS failure to identify the great crowd would seem left alot of people looking just like that.

The pic fiting the lingo may be funny at first glance, but it is dark humor. It goes to the gut when you really think about it and that is evidenced by some of the very sad remarks on this thread.
Many times in the course of my life when I met with abuse, deceit, and false accusations, I would take comfort that there had to be "someone" , a Supreme Being, who saw and knew all of this was happening to me. I tried to take comfort in believing that justice would come, that "God would get them" for the evil they had deliberately perpetrated upon me. I waited. I waited. I never saw any light shine in those dark places. Those who hurt me never came to justice. They had more money, more power, more "connections", more authority. They got over; they always got the last laugh.
I cannot help but wonder if we have all been psyched to accept abuse and being crushed. "Turn the other cheek". When you do, you get both jaws broken. "If they want your coat, give them your shirt, too." Roll over, give it up. Let the deceivers have their will upon you and gladly give up your self esteem and go without your clothes if you have to, just to prove---what?
I have waited. And waited. Justice never came. And even if it were to come now, it's too late. The injustices have shaped my life and there is no going back to the time when it would have made a difference.
"Love your enemies and pray for those who dispitefully you". The earliest origin of "prayers" were actually curses. Some of the prayers of King David recorded in scripture were curses on his enemies.
Justice does not come and we are placated by religious dogma to wait on superman to come make things right. We wait.
